Yuva All Stars Championship: Vasco Vipers, Sonipat Spartans, Warriorz KC, and Yuva Yoddhas Triumph on Day 16

On Day 16 of the Yuva All Stars Championship 2025, Warriorz KC and Vasco Vipers both secured impressive 10-point victories. Meanwhile, Yuva Yoddhas dominated the Junior Steelers, and the Sonipat Spartans made a strong comeback to defeat Yuva Paltan at the Vandana Kataria Indoor Stadium in Haridwar.

In their match, Vasco Vipers triumphed over Kurukshetra Warriors with a score of 55-45, maintaining their last place in Pool A standings with 14 points. The Vipers took control in the first half, executing two All-Outs against the Warriors and leading 28-18 at the break. Although the Sonipat Spartans managed two All-Outs against the Vipers, a crucial All Out and a Super Raid during the final moments allowed Vasco Vipers to clinch the victory.


Sahil emerged as the standout performer with 21 raid points, comprising 17 touch points and 4 bonus points. On the opposing side, Kurukshetra’s Rahul Poriya contributed 16 points (15 raid points and one tackle point). The Warriors currently sit at the bottom of Pool B with 14 points from 10 matches.

Warriorz KC also celebrated a 10-point victory, overcoming Yuva Mumba in Haridwar. The team from Bengal inflicted an All Out on Mumbai, leading 24-14 at halftime. They secured another All Out in the second half, ultimately winning 38-28. Despite their loss, Yuva Mumba’s Ajay Sangwan stood out with 8 raid points. Yuva Mumba currently holds second place in Pool B with 38 points, while Warriorz KC is second in Pool A with 47 points.

In a closely contested match, the Sonipat Spartans narrowly defeated Yuva Paltan. Both teams were evenly matched in the first half until Paltan managed an All Out, ending the half with a 17-11 advantage. The Spartans fought back, executing an All Out themselves to pull ahead by two points. A vital Super Tackle from Aman gave Sonipat the edge, and they added three points in the final two raids, concluding with a score of 33-29.

Paltan’s Ajay Gulia was the top performer with seven raid points, whereas the Spartans and Yuva Paltan currently hold third and fifth places in Pool B, with 38 and 25 points, respectively.

Later in the day, Yuva Yoddhas delivered a commanding performance against Junior Steelers, winning 42-23 and securing the top spot in Pool B with 45 points after 11 matches. The Steelers find themselves fifth in Pool A with 18 points. The Yoddhas started strong, leading 16-9 at halftime thanks to an All Out, and they maintained their momentum in the second half, inflicting two additional All Outs on the Steelers to finish the match with a 19-point margin. Shivam Singh was the standout player with 11 points.

Historic Test Debut in Guwahati as South Africa Reach 247/6 on Day 1

On the first day of the second Test between India and South Africa at Barsapara Stadium, South Africa made a strong start, reaching 247 for 6 at stumps.The venue, Barsapara Cricket Stadium, hosted its very first Test match in history — making the day special for Guwahati and cricket in Assam.

South African skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and chose to bat first.Their openers, Aiden Markram (38) and Ryan Rickelton (35), gave a solid start with a partnership of 82 runs.Later, Tristan Stubbs added 49 before getting out, while Bavuma made 41.

India fought back well thanks to a strong performance by spinner Kuldeep Yadav. He picked up 3 wickets and gave away only 48 runs in 17 overs.Ravindra Jadeja also chipped in with an important wicket, dismissing Bavuma. In the final over before stumps, Mohammed Siraj struck, getting Tony de Zorzi out.At the end of play, Senuran Muthusamy was unbeaten on 25, and Kyle Verreynne was 1 not out.

The light became a concern late in the day. As visibility dropped, play was stopped, and light issues forced the umpires to call it a day early.Overall, India ended Day 1 with a degree of satisfaction. The bowling attack showed discipline, especially through their spinners, and they managed to check the South African momentum.

India A began their Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 campaign with a huge total against the UAE in Doha. Captain Jitesh Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first. Vaibhav Suryavanshi then produced a stunning innings. He scored 144 runs from just 42 balls. His knock included 11 fours and 15 sixes.

Suryavanshi reached his fifty in 17 balls. He completed his century in only 32 balls. He added 163 runs for the second wicket with Naman Dhir, who made 34. Jitesh Sharma also played a quick innings and scored a fast fifty.

Sri Lankan Players Express Security Fears in Pakistan, Board Urges Them to Stay

Some Sri Lankan cricketers in Pakistan have asked to return home after a bomb blast in Islamabad killed 12 people on Wednesday. The team is currently playing a three-match ODI series in Rawalpindi, which is close to Islamabad.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a statement that it had spoken to the players and assured them of their safety. The board is working with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and local authorities to ensure full security.

SLC has directed all players and staff to continue the tour. It warned that if anyone still chooses to return, replacements will be sent and a review will be held later.
