Youth Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances at Factory in Hassan
Hassan: A 27-year-old youth was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a factory near Hanumanthapura on the outskirts of Hassan on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Puneeth (27). He had been working as an electrician at the factory for the past six months.
According to sources, Puneeth left for work on Wednesday morning wearing his uniform, as usual. Later in the afternoon, his body was found standing inside a water sump within the factory premises.
The body was shifted to the district hospital mortuary. Police informed his parents about the incident. Hundreds of people gathered near the mortuary after the news spread.
Family members and friends have alleged foul play. They claimed that the factory management did not immediately inform them about the incident. They also alleged that Puneeth’s uniform was changed after his death. They suspect that it was not a natural death and have demanded a thorough investigation.
The family further alleged that over 80 percent of the workers in the factory are from other states. They claimed that similar deaths had occurred earlier and accused the management of trying to suppress the case. They said that since Puneeth was a local resident, the incident could not be easily covered up.
Puneeth had visited Dharmasthala last week on a padayatra and returned to his village on February 15 after offering prayers. His family said he had no bad habits.
