Yogi Charges Opposition with Disseminating Propaganda Against Mahakumbh

Published

on

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while delivering the Motion of Thanks on the Governor’s address during the fifth day of the Budget session on Monday, criticized the Opposition for allegedly disseminating negative propaganda about the Mahakumbh.

He strongly denied allegations that specific castes were being excluded from the event, emphasizing that everyone is welcome to participate with respect and goodwill. Adityanath noted that the Mahakumbh represents a remarkable display of national unity, with individuals from diverse backgrounds coming together at the same ghat in a spirit of inclusivity—a profound testament to harmony and oneness, which he described as the core of Sanatan Dharma.

However, he issued a stern warning that those harboring malicious intentions would face repercussions, and any efforts to disrupt the Mahakumbh would be met with decisive action. Unlike the Opposition, he asserted that his government has always respected matters of faith.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the Mahakumbh, organized by followers of Sanatan Dharma, is a one-of-a-kind global event. The collective involvement of millions of devotees is a significant source of pride, contributing to the event’s success.

He drew a comparison to last year’s significant Pran Pratistha ceremony at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, which garnered global attention. This year’s Mahakumbh allows devotees to closely experience both Ayodhya and Kashi.

CM Yogi emphasized that these iconic events—the consecration of Ram Lalla at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi and the Mahakumbh—reflect the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” and are important milestones in the Prime Minister’s agenda. He stated, “They hold not only spiritual significance but also great economic value for the nation.”

In a strong rebuke to the Opposition, the Chief Minister reiterated that his government has always honored faith matters, contrasting it with the previous Samajwadi Party administration that failed to adequately prepare for the Kumbh, leading to chaos and pollution. He recalled how, during the 2013 Kumbh, the sacred Triveni Sangam was so polluted that even the Prime Minister of Mauritius opted not to take a dip.

“In stark contrast, this year, the Mahakumbh has attracted participation from across India and beyond. Dignitaries including the President, Prime Minister, Vice President, the King of Bhutan, and representatives from 74 countries have joined, making it a true global event. For the first time, people from all regions of the country united to celebrate this grand spiritual gathering. Live broadcasts from various media outlets showcased the profound impact the Mahakumbh had on foreign visitors witnessing it firsthand,” he remarked.

He noted the well-documented mismanagement leading to fatalities during the Haj pilgrimage, while lamenting that self-proclaimed Leftist and secular intellectuals persist in attacking the magnificence of the Mahakumbh. However, millions of devotees have reaffirmed their faith by immersing in the holy waters, effectively silencing critics.

Even a tragic incident during the event couldn’t diminish the pilgrims’ unwavering devotion. “Participants overcame numerous challenges to reach Prayagraj, returning with their faith invigorated. Although the Mahakumbh is approaching its end, the messages of unity and devotion it has inspired will remain etched in the hearts of every Sanatani. Stories of steadfast faith—like a daughter-in-law carrying her elderly mother-in-law on her back to ensure she could partake in the holy dip—have come to symbolize devotion. Yet, the opponents of Sanatan Dharma continue to cling to their distorted narratives,” he concluded.
