Woman Alleges Harassment by Husband over Extramarital Affair

Nelamangala: A woman has approached the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) office in Nelamangala, seeking justice after alleging harassment by her husband over his alleged extramarital affair.

The incident was reported from the Dabaspete police station limits in Nelamangala taluk. The woman, identified as Pavithra, is a resident of Bailappanapalya. She was married to Puneeth Kumar five years ago.

According to Pavithra, her parents had arranged the marriage and gave her 200 grams of gold jewellery at the time of the wedding. She said the couple lived happily for about one year after marriage.

However, she alleged that problems began later over small issues. She claimed that her husband started verbally and physically abusing her.

Pavithra also accused her husband of being involved in an extramarital relationship with another woman. She said this was the main reason for the disputes between them.

Unable to bear the harassment, Pavithra has been living with her grandparents in Dabaspete for the past four years. She further alleged that her husband has been forcing her to agree to a divorce.

She also claimed that her gold jewellery, weighing 200 grams, is still with her husband’s family. She said they refuse to return it and create arguments whenever she asks for it.

Pavithra stated that she had filed a complaint at the Dabaspete police station, but no proper action was taken. She has now approached the DYSP office in Nelamangala and requested authorities to provide her justice.

Police are expected to look into the matter and take necessary action based on the complaint.

New Delhi: Prateek Yadav, the younger son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, died in Lucknow on Tuesday morning. He was 38 years old.

Prateek Yadav was the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and his second wife, Sadhana Gupta. He belonged to one of India’s most well-known political families. However, he stayed away from active politics throughout his life.

Prateek was known for his interest in fitness and business. He completed his MBA degree from Leeds University in England. After his studies, he entered the real estate sector and also managed fitness-related businesses.

Apart from business, Prateek was involved in social work and animal welfare activities. He ran an organisation named ‘Jeev Aashray’, which worked for the rescue, treatment, and care of stray dogs. The organisation also provided food and shelter for homeless animals.

Prateek Yadav also supported social causes through an NGO that helped homeless people.

In 2011, Prateek married Aparna Yadav, formerly known as Aparna Bisht. She began her political career in the Samajwadi Party and later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2022.

Despite coming from a powerful political family, Prateek chose a private life and focused mainly on business, fitness, and social service.

His death has shocked family members, friends, and supporters.

Dharwad: An 18-year-old girl died by suicide after her family reportedly refused to accept her love relationship and marriage proposal in Dharwad district.

The deceased has been identified as Shwetha Kotenavar. She was reportedly in love with a young man named Nagaraj from Hubballi taluk for the past several years.

According to police, Shwetha had informed her family members about the relationship and expressed her wish to marry Nagaraj. However, her family did not agree to the marriage proposal.

Bike Rider Killed in Car Collision at Belthangady

Belthangady : A bike rider died on the spot after a tragic accident between a bike and a car at Golithottu Junction in Belthangady on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Sadananda Achar, a staff member of Arasinamakki Hathyadka Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society.

According to reports, the accident occurred when a bike travelling from Kokkada towards Uppinangady collided with a car moving from Uppinangady towards Shiradi.

The impact of the collision was severe. Sadananda Achar suffered serious injuries and died at the spot.

His wife, Usha Acharya, who was riding on the bike with him, sustained grievous injuries in the accident. She was immediately shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.

Puttur traffic police visited the accident spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
