When Salman Aimed a Gun at Shah Rukh on the ‘Karan Arjun’ Set – The Shocking Aftermath!

Published

on

Bollywood is renowned for its flair for drama, but what transpired off-screen during the making of ‘Karan Arjun’ left the entire crew in utter disbelief. Picture this: It’s 1995, and the cast is on location in Jaipur. After a grueling day of shooting, the team decides to let loose at a little celebration. With drinks flowing and music blaring, the atmosphere is electric. Little do they know, they are about to witness an outrageous prank that would nearly send veteran writer Honey Irani into a panic!

The brains behind the prank? None other than Salman Khan. The unsuspecting target? Shah Rukh Khan. And the one who revealed the tale? The beloved comedian Johnny Lever, during a recent chat with Galatta.

Known for his mischievous spirit, Salman frequently teased Shah Rukh during filming, poking fun at his dancing skills and calling him a “star.” While the crew fretted that SRK might take offense, the Bollywood King embraced the banter with humor.

As the evening progressed and the party atmosphere escalated, Salman and Shah Rukh concocted a staged altercation. What began as lighthearted shoving quickly escalated into a more heated showdown. Then, in a shocking turn of events, Salman brandished a gun and fired towards Shah Rukh.

In a dramatic twist, Shah Rukh fell to the ground, and silence enveloped the room. Gasps filled the air, and Honey Irani was nearly overwhelmed with panic, believing that the unthinkable had just happened. For a few excruciating moments, everyone was convinced Salman had actually shot Shah Rukh.

But then, in a flash, SRK popped back up, laughing uproariously. The prank had succeeded! Salman and Shah Rukh were doubled over in laughter, while the rest of the crew gradually collected themselves from the shock.

Years later, Salman shared the backstory of this legendary prank on ‘Aap Ki Adalat’. The scheme was straightforward: after Shah Rukh initially refused to dance, they would pretend to fight, and Salman would fire a blank. SRK, being the talented performer he is, executed a somersault and feigned a fall, making the prank all the more believable.

Even Salman’s brother, Sohail Khan, was part of the setup, but the rest of the crew? Completely tricked!

While ‘Karan Arjun’ went on to become a blockbuster, one of 1995’s highest-grossing films, this unforgettable off-camera moment became a cherished part of Bollywood lore. It beautifully illustrated the camaraderie between two of Indian cinema’s biggest icons.

From intense revenge tales on screen to raucous pranks off it, ‘Karan Arjun’ had a little bit of everything. As Johnny Lever aptly noted, “What a prank it was!” And honestly, we couldn’t agree more.
