Uttar Pradesh Government Greenlights Construction of Medical Colleges in Baghpat and Kasganj

Upholding its commitment to the ‘One District, One Medical College’ (ODOM) initiative, the Uttar Pradesh government has granted approval for the establishment of new medical colleges in Baghpat and Kasganj, aiming to improve healthcare accessibility for local residents. Additionally, plans have been approved to set up a medical college in Hathras through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Officials announced on Friday that the satellite center of King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Balrampur will also be transformed into a fully operational medical college, thereby bolstering the state’s medical infrastructure.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remains dedicated to ensuring that every district in Uttar Pradesh has its own medical college. The recent approvals for institutions in Baghpat, Kasganj, and Hathras represent significant progress toward this vision. These initiatives are backed by the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme, which supports the expansion of healthcare services through partnerships between government and private sectors.

Expanding healthcare facilities is a crucial priority for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Establishing a medical college in each district will not only enhance healthcare access but also substantially elevate the level of medical education across the state. During a recent meeting, CM Yogi emphasized that this initiative is a vital leap toward creating a ‘New Uttar Pradesh,’ where every individual has access to quality medical services. He has instructed officials to ensure the timely execution of these college projects.

The Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to launch new medical colleges will not only enhance healthcare services but also create job opportunities for the youth. These institutions are set to increase the number of doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and other healthcare professionals in the region.

The government has also committed to providing modern facilities in these colleges, ensuring students receive high-quality medical education on par with leading institutions nationwide. The Chief Minister directed officials to uphold strict quality standards during the construction and operation of these colleges.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister approved the proposal from the lowest bidder to operate medical colleges in Baghpat, Kasganj, and Hathras under the PPP model. This initiative aims to attract private sector investment alongside government backing, ensuring efficient operations and superior medical facilities.

Additionally, plans to upgrade KGMU’s satellite center in Balrampur to a full-fledged medical college have been confirmed. This development will significantly benefit Purvanchal and surrounding regions by providing advanced medical care to patients in remote areas, thereby improving the healthcare system and delivering better medical treatment to underserved populations.

22-Year-Old Woman Killed After Truck Runs Over Her in Jaipur

Jaipur: A 22-year-old woman died after a truck ran over her in Jaipur, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Liga Jimo, a native of Nagaland. She had been living in a rented house in Malviya Nagar for the past two years. She was working at a beauty parlour in the area.

The incident took place on Monday night. Liga Jimo was travelling to Malviya Nagar on a bike taxi.

According to police, the bike lost control near Gopalpura Pulia. As a result, the woman fell onto the road.

At the same time, a truck carrying gas cylinders came from behind and ran over her. She died on the spot due to the impact.

Police shifted the body to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. Further investigation is underway

Husband Revives Wife After Doctors Declare Her Dead

Mangaluru: A woman who was declared dead by doctors survived after her husband performed CPR for 35 minutes. The inspiring story of Komal Jamwal was shared on the Instagram page of Humans of Bombay and has gone viral.

The incident happened in March 2012 when Komal was 33 years old. She suddenly developed severe leg weakness and collapsed. Doctors at a hospital in Jammu later diagnosed her with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare condition that affects the nerves.

During treatment, she suffered repeated cardiac arrests and doctors declared her dead. However, her husband refused to give up and performed CPR for 35 minutes until her heart started beating again.

She was later treated in Ludhiana and slowly recovered. Now 14 years later, the 47-year-old woman can walk again and says she is grateful to her husband and family for saving her life.

Vallabh Maheshwari Dies in BMW Crash on Delhi–Mumbai Expressway

New Delhi: Vallabh Maheshwari, Managing Director of Shakun Group, died in a road accident on Sunday. He was 62 years old.

The accident happened on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway near Alwar. Maheshwari was travelling from Jaipur to Mathura.

Police said the BMW car was driven by his driver. The driver lost control of the vehicle. The car broke through roadside barricades and crashed into the median wall.
