UP Unveils Five New Spiritual Corridors

Published

on

The Mahakumbh-2025 is set to transform Uttar Pradesh into a premier hub for spiritual tourism, enhancing the state’s reputation as a prominent religious destination. In preparation for this significant event, the Uttar Pradesh government has established five major spiritual corridors to improve access to key religious sites throughout the region.

During a recent visit to Prayagraj, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his appreciation for the dedication of police officers, sanitation workers, healthcare providers, boat operators, media personnel, and transportation services for their contributions to the festival’s successful organization.

He highlighted the importance of these newly created corridors, which will simplify travel for pilgrims exploring Uttar Pradesh’s sacred locations, greatly enhancing the spiritual tourism experience in the state.

The Prayagraj–Vindhyachal–Kashi corridor allows devotees to journey from Prayagraj to Vindhyachal Devi Dham and subsequently to Kashi (Varanasi). This route is particularly significant for followers of Goddess Shakti and Lord Shiva, providing a spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage through these revered sites.

The Prayagraj–Ayodhya–Gorakhpur corridor connects locations linked to Lord Ram and the Gorakhnath tradition. Pilgrims can take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj before visiting the Lete Hanuman Temple, Akshay Vat, and Saraswati Koop. From there, they can proceed to Ayodhya for Ram Lalla’s darshan and continue to Gorakhpur to receive blessings at the Gorakhnath Temple.

The Prayagraj–Lucknow–Naimisharanya route guides devotees from Prayagraj to Naimisharanya via Lucknow. Naimisharanya Dham, one of the 88 holy pilgrimage sites in Hinduism, is revered as the meditation ground of 88,000 sages and is closely associated with Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Sati, and Lord Shiva.

The Prayagraj–Rajapur–Chitrakoot corridor, tied to Lord Ram’s exile, leads to Chitrakoot Dham, which features sacred locations such as Kamadgiri Parvat, Ramghat, and Hanuman Dhara. This route also passes through Rajapur (Banda), the birthplace of the esteemed poet-saint Goswami Tulsidas, known for his works like the Ramcharitmanas and Vinay Patrika.

Lastly, the Prayagraj–Mathura–Vrindavan–Shuk Teerth Corridor, accessible via the Bundelkhand Expressway, enables devotees to travel to Mathura-Vrindavan and continue to Shuk Teerth, a site linked to the meditation of Maharishi Shukracharya. Here, pilgrims can explore Mathura-Vrindavan, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, and visit locations significant to his childhood and divine pastimes.

With these newly established corridors, Uttar Pradesh is poised to experience a remarkable uplift in spiritual tourism, making pilgrimage journeys more accessible and enriching for devotees.
