Udit Narayan Sparks Controversy as New Incidents Come to Light
As in previous controversies, fans began to scrutinize Narayan’s past. Old clips featuring him kissing female artists such as Alka Yagnik and Shreya Ghoshal have gained traction online, with both singers appearing startled by the unexpected gestures but remaining silent on the matter. Furthermore, there are claims that Narayan kissed actress Karisma Kapoor, who was also visibly surprised.
This current incident has intensified scrutiny of past events, and discussions have proliferated across platforms like Reddit, X, and Instagram. While the majority of comments criticize Narayan, some users argue that the female fan initiated the interaction.
Amid the backlash, Udit Narayan addressed the situation in an interview with the Hindustan Times, asserting his integrity and denying any inappropriate behavior. He referred to his fans as “deewaane” (crazy) and suggested that these events should not be exaggerated. He explained, “Fans can be quite passionate. We are decent people and not like that. Some individuals express their affection in various ways. What’s the point of making a big deal out of it? There are many people in the crowd, and we have bodyguards. Fans often think they have a chance to connect, leading some to reach out for a handshake or kiss. It’s all part of their enthusiasm and doesn’t deserve that much focus.”
In related news, Narayan’s peer, Abhijit Bhattacharjee, has publicly supported him, calling him a “khiladi” (player) and expressing solidarity.
Udit Narayan has enjoyed a lengthy career in the film industry, providing his voice for numerous hit songs.
