Truck Topples Onto BMW, High Court Lawyer Killed
Andhra Pradesh: A tragic road accident in Andhra Pradesh claimed the life of a senior High Court lawyer after a truck fell onto his car and crushed it completely.
The incident took place near the Keesara Toll Plaza in Kanchikacharla mandal on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway on Saturday evening.
According to police, a concrete mixer tanker lost control and overturned while taking a turn near the toll plaza. The truck then fell directly onto a BMW car that was passing through the toll gate at that time.
The car was completely flattened under the weight of the tanker.
The victim has been identified as B. Srinivas Rao, a well-known High Court advocate. He was returning to Hyderabad after taking part in the Bar Council elections held in Amaravati earlier in the day.
Police said the accident occurred between 4:15 pm and 4:20 pm.
Rescue teams rushed to the spot immediately after the accident. Heavy machines, including a crane and a JCB, were used to lift the overturned tanker and recover the body.
The body was later sent for post-mortem examination.
Disturbing visuals from the scene showed the truck lying sideways on top of the badly damaged red BMW.
Preliminary reports suggest that the tanker may have lost control due to brake failure while turning. Officials are also checking if the vehicle was overloaded or if there was any negligence involved.
