Toll Gate Staff Assaults Truck Driver in Bantwal: Public Demands Legal Action

A shocking incident occurred at the Brahmarakotte Toll Gate in Bantwal, where a toll gate staff member assaulted a truck driver. The incident took place after the driver questioned why toll charges were being applied to a poorly maintained road.
The Brahmarakotte Toll Gate is the first toll gate in Dakshina Kannada district, managed under the National Highways Authority of India. It has been the center of several controversies due to the poor condition of the road and frequent disputes between the toll staff and commuters.
The staff’s mismanagement and rude behavior have led to widespread public frustration. Many commuters are losing their patience, as the toll gate is often a source of traffic jams due to the chaos caused by the staff’s actions. Despite the deteriorating condition of the road, commuters are still being charged toll fees.
