Thalapathy Vijay Wins Big in Tamil Nadu Elections
Tamil Nadu: Actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay has secured a major victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
His party, TVK, has won 108 seats in the state. This is his first time contesting in an election. The win is seen as a significant achievement.
Many celebrities from the film industry have congratulated Vijay. Actor and director Rishab Shetty shared a message on social media. He said Vijay has created a new chapter in Tamil Nadu politics. He also wished for development under Vijay’s leadership.
Actor Shivarajkumar also congratulated Vijay. He said the victory is well deserved. He praised Vijay for staying calm during criticism. He added that Vijay’s work has spoken louder than words.
Several other actors also shared their wishes. These include Nani, Vijay Deverakonda, Sivakarthikeyan, Tiger Shroff, and Ravi Teja. Actresses like Rambha and Kajal Aggarwal also congratulated him. Senior stars such as Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, and Rajinikanth joined in. Music composer A. R. Rahman also extended his wishes.

Praggnanandhaa Meets Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay played a friendly game of chess with Grandmaster R. Praggnanandhaa at the Tamil Nadu Secretariat.
During the game, Praggnanandhaa checkmated the Chief Minister in a few moves. After the match, he said that Vijay played well and that it was a memorable experience.

The Chief Minister also presented Praggnanandhaa with a special incentive of Rs 50 lakh for winning the Norway Chess 2026 title.
Praggnanandhaa won the prestigious tournament in Oslo after defeating Vincent Keymer of Germany in the final round. He finished ahead of top players, including Magnus Carlsen and Dommaraju Gukesh.

TVK Gives First Rajya Sabha Seat to Congress, DMK Targets Vijay
Chennai: Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) has allotted its first Rajya Sabha seat to the Congress party, highlighting the growing ties between the two parties.
TVK leader Vijay chose to support Congress instead of nominating a party member. Congress leader Praveen Chakravarthy has been named as the party’s candidate for the Upper House.
The move comes at a time when relations between Congress and the DMK have become strained. The DMK criticised TVK, claiming the party avoided taking a direct stand against the BJP.

Did Mamata Banerjee Ask Yusuf Pathan To Quit As MP?
Kolkata: Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly and Trinamool Congress MP Yusuf Pathan have denied reports that Pathan was asked to resign from his Lok Sabha seat for Mamata Banerjee.
A media report claimed that Mamata Banerjee had requested Ganguly to convince Pathan to step down from the Baharampur constituency so that she could contest a by-election.
Ganguly strongly rejected the claim and called it “incorrect and untrue.” He said Mamata Banerjee never asked him to convey any such message to Pathan. He also clarified that he has never been involved in political matters.

Yusuf Pathan also denied the report. In a video message, he said Mamata Banerjee had never asked him to resign from his MP post. He called the claim completely false.
