Taylor Lautner Stands by Ex Selena Gomez in Response to Body-Shaming Criticism
The message underscored how unrealistic beauty standards disproportionately affect women, regardless of whether they gain or lose weight. As Light stated, “Our bodies are ours, not for public debate.”
Lautner, who has openly discussed his own body image struggles following the Twilight saga, echoed these sentiments in his support for Gomez. “It’s a harsh world filled with negativity,” he remarked. “You can’t please everyone, nor should you feel obligated to.”
He urged individuals to focus on what truly matters, saying, “While the words might sting, it helps shift your attention to what is important, and that isn’t the shape, color, or appearance of your body.”
Lautner also offered a reminder to his followers: “A daily reminder for all—don’t forget how beautiful you are, inside and out… and let’s all be a little kinder.”
Selena Gomez has been open about her health journey, including her lupus diagnosis in 2015 and a kidney transplant in 2017. Throughout her career, she has faced body-shaming, particularly after discussing how her health challenges and medication have resulted in weight fluctuations. Nevertheless, Gomez has continually utilized her platform to advocate for self-love and body positivity.

Manipal: The makers of the upcoming Tulu film Kajja have released the vibrant video song “Tulunada Mann,” offering a colourful tribute to the culture and heritage of Tulunadu.

Following special premiere screenings across Coastal Karnataka, Kajja is set for a statewide theatrical release on June 11.
