Taapsee Pannu is deeply engaged in the production of her upcoming film ‘Gandhari’ and is sharing updates from the set with her fans.

On Wednesday, she took to Instagram to share her experiences, offering followers insights into the challenges and successes of the filmmaking process.

In her post, Taapsee conveyed an uplifting message: “When the going gets tough, the tough get going… that’s the one line that sums up the motivation and experience ‘Gandhari’ has given us.” She went on to mention that the crew is approaching the final phases of filming and are ready to “break the glass ceiling—literally as well,” as they challenge conventions in their work.

Additionally, she expressed her enthusiasm for venturing into new territory, remarking, “If you want something you never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.”

Taapsee also shared two photos with her audience. The first one features her dressed in a lively green and pink salwar suit, sporting a long braid and holding a stick, offering a glimpse into her character.

Ricky Kej Pays Tribute to AR Rahman: “He Paved the Way for Musicians Like Me”

Published

When Grammy-winning composer Ricky Kej speaks, the music community pays attention, and this time he’s shining the light on a true pioneer — the renowned AR Rahman.
In a touching Instagram post that resonated with music enthusiasts, Kej shared a photo alongside Rahman, commending his significant impact on the music landscape in India.

“In my opinion, no one has contributed more to nurturing new talent, singers, instrumentalists, ensembles, and the overall music scene than AR Rahman,” he expressed.

This was more than just an admiration moment. With three Grammy awards to his name and a fourth nomination awaiting in 2025, Kej knows firsthand the weight of his words.
From folk to classical, pop to contemporary, he believes Rahman has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of musicians across all genres in India.
“He has personally employed countless musicians,” Kej emphasized. “Through his artistry, he has helped various musical styles flourish and opened new opportunities, allowing musicians like me to connect with global audiences.”
Kej also voiced his concerns regarding the unjust criticism Rahman sometimes endures. “It’s painful to witness people targeting him as a soft target; this has to change,” he defended the icon who has profoundly influenced the sound of Indian cinema for over three decades.

While showering kudos on Rahman, Kej is also thriving in his own right. Following his first Grammy win in 2015 for ‘Winds of Samsara’, he made headlines again with ‘Divine Tides’, a collaboration with Stewart Copeland, the drummer of The Police — an album that secured him two more Grammys in 2022 and 2023.
Looking ahead to 2025, Kej is back in the Grammy race with his album ‘Break of Dawn’. In a previous interview, he referred to it as his “best work to date.”
What sets it apart? It’s not just about the melodies — it carries a profound message. “As an environmentalist, this album arises from a focus on mental wellness and environmental awareness,” he explained.
Inspired by ancient Indian raags and spiritual teachings, ‘Break of Dawn’ aims to harness music as a source of healing. “To cleanse the environment, we must first cleanse our minds,” he elaborated.

Meanwhile, the iconic AR Rahman continues to forge ahead with his latest concert tour, ‘Wonderment’, set to launch on May 3 at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. This tour marks the beginning of a global journey that promises to be as enchanting as its title suggests.
“Each note, each rhythm tells a story,” Rahman conveyed in a statement about the concert. “With ‘Wonderment’, my goal is to blend tradition with innovation, celebrating both the past and future through music.” He noted that Mumbai is the ideal starting point due to its vibrant energy and spirit.

Samay Raina Under Fire from Supreme Court for Making Fun of Disabled Infant’s Condition

Published

on

Stand-up comedian and creator of ‘India’s Got Latent’, Samay Raina, has once again landed in hot water—this time facing scrutiny beyond social media discussions. The Supreme Court of India has taken a serious stance regarding his controversial comments about a two-month-old baby suffering from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a rare and potentially fatal condition that impacts muscle strength and mobility.

The controversy arose during a performance on his show, where Raina referenced the significant costs associated with Zolgensma, a gene therapy priced at an astounding ₹16 crore. He quipped on stage, “If you were that mother and one day ₹16 crore landed in your bank account… wouldn’t you at least look at your husband and go, ‘Hmmm… inflation is rising’?”

This joke, however, did not resonate well with many, especially within the SMA community. The Cure SMA Foundation of India expressed their discontent by filing an intervention with the Supreme Court, advocating for not only a legal response but also increased awareness and empathy when discussing such serious health issues. They highlighted that fundraising often represents the only hope for families needing life-saving treatments that most people cannot afford.

During a recent court hearing, Justice Surya Kant voiced his concerns, stating, “We are really disturbed by the allegations. We place such instances on record… implead the concerned persons… suggest measures. Then we will see.”

This legal scrutiny follows another wave of backlash against Raina for a separate joke about parents and sex, which he delivered on the same show alongside content creator Ranveer Allahbadia. While Raina is known for his edgy comedic style, critics note the thin line between bold humor and insensitivity.

For context, SMA is a genetic disorder that leads to muscle deterioration and severe physical challenges in infants and young children, with treatment costs, especially for drugs like Zolgensma, proving financially burdensome for families.
