Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta has expressed shock over the murder of a young woman at the BC Road KSRTC bus stand.

The victim has been identified as Lavanya. She was allegedly attacked and killed by a youth in broad daylight while returning home after work.

The MP said the incident has caused deep concern among the people of the district. He described the crime as a shocking and shameful act.

He said such an incident in a well-educated district like Dakshina Kannada is very disturbing. He added that the brutal murder has shocked the entire civil society.

Brijesh Chowta said it is painful to see some youngsters choosing violence and illegal acts.

He urged the police to conduct a fair and speedy investigation. He also demanded that strict legal action be taken against the accused.

The MP said the accused should be given the maximum punishment under the law.

Mangaluru: Mangaluru is witnessing cloudy weather with intermittent light rain on Wednesday. The temperature is expected to remain between 25°C and 31°C throughout the day.

The morning and afternoon are likely to remain cloudy with a few light rain showers. The maximum temperature may reach around 31°C.

Rainfall is expected to increase during the evening. Thunderstorms and passing showers are likely between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm. The chances of rain during this period are estimated to be between 50 and 70 percent.

The night is expected to remain cool with a minimum temperature of around 25°C. Scattered light rain may continue in some parts of the city.

Winds are expected to blow from the west at a speed of 5 to 13 kmph.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an advisory for Coastal Karnataka. It has warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty surface winds in the region.

People are advised to remain cautious while travelling during the evening. Residents are also advised to follow the latest weather updates, as coastal weather conditions can change quickly.

Mangaluru: A new healthcare facility, Spoorthi Aclin Specialty Clinic, was inaugurated on Sunday at the ground floor of the Inland Avenue building on M.G. Road, Ballalbagh, Mangaluru.
