Suniel Shetty Joins Tulu Cinema with ‘Jai’; Grand Welcome at Mangalore Airport
Mangalore: Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty arrived in Mangalore today to act in the Tulu movie Jai, directed by Rupesh Shetty. He received a warm welcome at the Mangalore airport from Rupesh Shetty and the team.
Jai is a big-budget film, with most of its shooting already completed in various parts of the coastal region. Suniel Shetty will participate in the final phase of shooting starting January 15.
Following the success of Girgit, Gamjaal, and Circus, Jai is Rupesh Shetty’s ambitious project, produced under the banners of RS Cinemas, Shoolin Films, and Mugrodi Productions.
Rupesh Shetty has directed the film, with the story and dialogues penned by Prasanna Shetty Bailuru. The cinematography is handled by Vinuth K., music by Loy Valentine Saldanha, and editing by Rahul Vasista. Producers Anil Shetty, Sudhakar Shetty Mugrodi, and Manjunath Attavar have brought the film to life.
Speaking to the media at the airport, Suniel Shetty expressed his excitement: “Tulu is the language of my homeland. I’ve always dreamed of acting in a Tulu film. A few years ago, I mentioned that I would act in a good Tulu film if the opportunity arose. Finally, it has come true. This is my first Tulu film.”
He also praised the recent quality of Tulu cinema, stating, “Tulu films are now on par with films in other languages, which is very encouraging.”

Kolar: One Dead in Car–Bike Collision
Kolar: A man died in a tragic road accident in Kolar district on Thursday. The accident happened when a speeding car hit a bike and later overturned.

According to police, the car first collided with a bike on the road. After the collision, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car then hit the divider and overturned.
A 40-year-old man named Basheer from Andhra Pradesh died on the spot. He was travelling in the car at the time of the accident.
Another person who was in the car suffered serious injuries. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The bike riders escaped with minor injuries. They received first aid after the incident.

The impact of the crash was very severe. The car was completely crushed in the accident.
Police from Rayalpad Police Station rushed to the spot and inspected the scene. Further investigation into the accident is underway.

Woman Drowns During Trek Near Kundapur
Kundapur: A 53-year-old woman died after drowning in a river during a trekking trip near Kundapur on Sunday, March 1.

The deceased has been identified as Shubhashree Karanth, a medical shop owner from Kundapur. She was part of a group of 8 to 10 people who had gone trekking to Metkal Gudda near Hosangady.
The incident took place near Bhagimane in Hosangady. During the trek, she reportedly entered the river and drowned. The exact cause of the incident is not yet known.
Her body was shifted to the Government Hospital in Kundapur for further procedures.

Police from Amasebail station visited the spot and collected information. A case has been registered. Further investigation is in progress.

Two Youths Killed in Road Accident While Heading to Birthday Celebration in Koppal
Koppal: Two young men lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Koppal while they were on their way to attend a birthday celebration.

The deceased have been identified as Srinivas (26) and Siddanagouda (25).
According to police, the accident occurred when the two were travelling on a motorcycle. They were reportedly going to attend Srinivas’s daughter’s birthday along with his friend Siddanagouda.
While attempting to overtake a lorry carrying steel coils, the rider lost control of the bike. The motorcycle slipped and came under the wheels of the moving lorry.

Both victims were trapped under the vehicle and died on the spot.
