Strengthon to Bring a New Fitness Challenge to Mangaluru

Published

on

Mangaluru: A new fitness and athletic performance event called STRENGTHON is being introduced in Mangaluru. The first edition of the event will be held on September 20 at the Aikya Sports Facility in the Urwa Market area.

The event will bring together running, strength, physical fitness and functional activities on a single competitive platform. Around 300 athletes are expected to take part in the inaugural edition.

STRENGTHON is designed around three simple questions: How fit are you? Where are you strong? Where can you improve?

The event will test athletes beyond just running. Participants will compete in five performance stations — Sled Push, Animal Walk, Sandbag Lunge, Farmer Carry and Tyre Flip.

The event focuses on six key areas of athletic performance: endurance, strength, mobility, work capacity, resilience and power.

The aim is not only to find out who is the fastest or strongest. Instead, STRENGTHON aims to provide a broader picture of an athlete’s overall physical performance.

The first edition of STRENGTHON is being described as the Founding Edition. Athletes taking part in the inaugural event will receive the status of Founding Athletes.

Organisers said these athletes will be the first to experience the unique format of STRENGTHON. They will also help establish the early performance standards of the platform.

STRENGTHON is being launched in Mangaluru with the aim of building a platform that can grow beyond one event and one city.

The event will bring together people from different fitness backgrounds, including runners, gym-goers, functional fitness enthusiasts and athletes who want to test themselves across different areas of performance.

The Founding Athlete experience will include several features. Participants will receive an official Founding Athlete status, timing and live results, a STRENGTHON score and individual performance analysis.

They will also receive a finisher medal, digital certificate and official Founding Athlete T-shirt. A full-body composition scan, hydration and medical support will also be available.

The event will also provide a recovery experience and two free passes for spectators. Participants will have opportunities to be part of the future growth of STRENGTHON.

The organisers said the event has support from partners in nutrition, medical care, recovery, fitness and athlete experience.

STRENGTHON aims to take the fitness conversation beyond questions such as “How much can you lift?” and “How fast can you run?”

Instead, it focuses on a wider question: “How well can you perform?”

According to the organisers, Mangaluru has a growing fitness culture with athletes, runners, gyms, trainers and fitness communities. This environment has encouraged the launch of STRENGTHON in the city.
