Cricket icon Sourav Ganguly may be making his acting debut in Netflix’s forthcoming crime thriller, “Khakee: The Bengal Chapter.” Although there’s no official word yet, filmmaker Neeraj Pandey’s enigmatic comment during the trailer launch in Kolkata has ignited speculation.

When questioned about Ganguly’s potential involvement in the series, Pandey simply smiled and remarked, “As far as Sourav is concerned… keep looking.” This statement has stirred excitement among fans, suggesting a tantalizing possibility of a surprise cameo from the ‘Prince of Kolkata.’

Set to debut on March 20, “Khakee: The Bengal Chapter” is the second installment in Pandey’s “Khakee” series, following the successful “Khakee: The Bihar Chapter” released in 2022. This new chapter transports viewers to Kolkata in the early 2000s, where an IPS officer confronts the city’s crime, corruption, and political machinations.

Pandey, a native of Kolkata, expressed that his personal connection to the city influenced the setting choice. “There was a personal bias,” he acknowledged.

The series features a stellar cast that includes some of the finest talents from Bengali cinema. Directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, the show promises an engaging blend of action, politics, and power dynamics, all set against the intricate socio-political backdrop of Kolkata.
