Siddharth: “I Would Dedicate My Test Batting Achievements to Rahul Dravid”

Actor Siddharth, who takes on the role of Arjun, a cricketer representing India in the upcoming film ‘Test’ directed by Sashikanth, shared that if he had to dedicate his performance as a test cricketer to anyone, it would be Rahul Dravid. During a discussion hosted by the film’s producers, which also stars Nayanthara, Madhavan, and Meera Jasmine alongside Siddharth, he elaborated on the inspiration behind his character.

“In India, cricket is more than just a sport; it’s a way of life. I enjoy cricket as well. However, portraying a cricketer requires more than just acting. Given that people watch cricket up to four hours a day, they become accustomed to the intricacies of the game and seek perfection. Thus, authenticity in my portrayal was my primary concern. We aimed to stay true to the passion and grace of my character throughout the film,” he explained.

He also discussed his preparation for the role: “Taking on the portrayal of a test cricketer necessitates extensive preparation. As audiences observe my behavior, cricketing techniques, and mindset in the film, they will see influences from several cricketers, not just one. As this character is fictional, we’ve incorporated elements from various players. If the audience feels the same excitement watching this film as they do during a match, I believe we’ve succeeded. I’m thankful for the opportunity to embody Arjun in Test.”

Siddharth added, “I can’t mention just one person, as naming one would mean omitting others. However, personally — since my school days — the one cricketer I’ve admired from his debut through his retirement and beyond is Rahul Dravid. Therefore, if I had to dedicate my representation as a test batsman in this film to a living cricketer, it would be him,” Siddharth said.

‘Test’, set to premier on Netflix from April 4, marks the directorial debut of renowned producer Sashikanth.

BBK12 : The latest episode of Bigg Boss Super Sunday with Sudeep brought several entertaining moments. One of the highlights was when host Kiccha Sudeep asked Gilli if he would like to write a book about the Bigg Boss contestants. Gilli responded with humour and interesting observations.
