Actress Shriya Pilgaonkar, daughter of renowned actors Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar, emphasizes the unique approach her parents take in guiding her career. Instead of providing direct answers, they encourage her to ask the right questions of herself.

In a conversation with IANS, the ‘Mirzapur’ star noted, “Whenever I have doubts, I do reach out to my parents. However, what’s remarkable is that, despite their vast experience, they always guide me to seek clarity on my own. They never dictate my choices; instead, they prompt me to resolve my uncertainties. Often, I choose not to discuss my projects with them because I want their feedback to be that of an audience member, honest and genuine.”

Discussing the advantages of having actor parents, Shriya shared, “The best part is having the opportunity to consult them when I need help with dialects or language queries. They evaluate my performances as viewers and provide me with authentic feedback.”

On the professional front, Shriya recently portrayed a police officer in the drama “Chhal Kapat The Deception.” To prepare for her role, she engaged with female police officers from Uttar Pradesh, including ADG Padmaja Chauhan, and learned about the innovative women’s redressal helpline, 1090.

Reflecting on how her interactions with these officers shaped her portrayal of Devika, she mentioned, “It deepened my connection to my character in ‘Chhal Kapat The Deception’. Devika isn’t just a cop; she’s a woman grappling with her own struggles while standing firm against injustice. I hope the audience connects with that emotional journey when they watch the series.”

Directed by Ajay Bhuyan, “Chhal Kapat The Deception” features a talented ensemble cast, including Kamya Ahlawat, Ragini Dwivedi, Tuhina Das, Yahhve Sharma, Pranay Pachauri, Smaran Sahu, and Anuj Sachdeva, among others. The series, produced by Juggernaut Production, premiered on ZEE5 on June 6.
