Short Circuit Causes Fire at Hotel in Vijayapura
Vijayapura: A fire broke out at a hotel in Indi town of Vijayapura district after a suspected short circuit, causing heavy property damage.
According to reports, the fire started suddenly due to a short circuit inside the hotel. The flames spread quickly and destroyed several items kept inside the building.
Many goods and materials worth several lakh rupees were burnt in the fire. Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident.

Fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot soon after receiving the information. They worked quickly and managed to bring the fire under control.
The incident took place under the limits of the Indi Town Police Station. Authorities are further investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.

Drunk Man’s Test Drive Leads to Accident in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru: A careless act by showroom staff led to a road accident in Bengaluru. The incident happened in Mahadevapura’s Vigneshwara Nagar area.
A man named Abhilash went to a Mahindra showroom on April 12. He wanted to check a car before buying it. He was drunk at that time. Even then, the staff gave him the car for a test drive.
Abhilash drove the car in an unsafe manner. He lost control and hit four vehicles on the road. The crash caused heavy damage to the vehicles.
A man named Ramesh was injured in the accident. His leg was fractured. He is now getting treatment in a private hospital.
After the crash, local people became angry. They attacked Abhilash at the spot. He was also injured and later taken to a hospital.
The Mahadevapura traffic police came to the scene. They checked the situation and collected details. A case has been filed under BNS Sections 125(a) and 281 and also under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Police are now looking into the role of the showroom staff. Further investigation is going on.

2 Nagpur Law Students Killed in Bike Crash Near Campus
Nagpur: Two students from Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) lost their lives in a tragic bike accident near the campus.
The incident happened on Wednesday night. The victims were identified as Saksham Bansod (20) and Aryan Sontakke (20). Both were third-year students.
They had gone out for dinner. The accident took place while they were returning to the university. Their bike reportedly skidded on a rough road behind the campus. It then fell into a ditch.
The area was isolated. No one noticed the accident at that time.
One of the students had left his phone at the hotel. The other student’s phone battery had died. They could not call anyone for help.
The students did not return to the hostel by 10:30 pm. The university informed their parents. A search operation was started.
The next morning, a passerby found their bodies in the ditch. The police were informed immediately.
Police said the rider lost control due to speed. Both students suffered serious injuries. They died at the spot.

A case of accidental death has been registered. Police have started an investigation.
Bansod’s father is a civil judge in Wardha. Sontakke’s father is a lawyer.
The university suspended all classes for one day to mourn the loss.
