Scooter Rider Killed in Car Accident in Belthangady

Belthangady: A scooter rider died on the spot after a car hit him in Belthangady.The accident happened near Madanthyar in Dakshina Kannada district.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Padmanabha Devadiga.He was a resident of Karinje Padi in Kavalamuduru.

Padmanabha Devadiga was working as a supplier in a hotel at Uppinangady.He used to visit his home once every three days.

On January 23, at around 11:30 p.m., he was returning home after finishing work.At that time, a car coming from Mangaluru Airport hit his scooter.

Due to the impact, he died on the spot.He is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter, and other family members.

The Punjalkatte police visited the spot and registered a case.Further investigation is underway

7-Year-Old Boy Dies after Scooter Catches Fire in Belthangady

Belthangady: A seven-year-old boy who suffered severe burn injuries after a scooter caught fire due to a suspected technical fault has died despite treatment.

The incident took place on June 12 at Minandelu in Belalu village of Belthangady taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Diyan (7), son of retired Army personnel Mohan Gowda Kadanda. He was a student at a private English medium school in Ujire.

According to reports, Mohan Gowda was taking his son on the scooter when it suddenly caught fire on the road due to a suspected technical fault. The boy suffered severe burn injuries in the incident.

Diyan was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday despite the doctors’ efforts.

Mohan Gowda also suffered burn injuries in the incident. He has recovered and is now in stable condition.

Diyan is survived by his father, mother, and sister.

Mohan Gowda served in the Indian Army for 24 years before retiring. He had returned to his native village on April 5 after completing his service.

The tragic death of the young boy has left the family and the local community in deep sorrow.

Woman Delivers Baby in Ambulance on the Way to Hospital

Belthangady: A woman gave birth to a baby boy inside an ambulance while being taken to the hospital for delivery in Belthangady.

The incident took place on February 23 in the early morning. The woman, identified as Leelavathi, a resident of Sudemugere in Belthangady town, had come to the Belthangady Taluk Government Hospital for delivery.

As per the doctors’ advice, she wished to deliver her baby at Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangaluru. She was referred to the hospital and was sent in an ambulance along with two nurses.

While the ambulance was nearing Farangipete, she experienced severe labour pain. The nurses immediately acted and successfully conducted the delivery inside the ambulance.

The ambulance driver, Dinesh Gowda, showed presence of mind and drove quickly to Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangaluru. His timely action was appreciated by the public.
