Sara Ali Khan Aims to Showcase the Tale of the ‘Modern Indian Girl’—and Possibly Take on Production
When asked about the type of projects she would like to support as a producer, Sara shared, “Our country has countless stories to tell. There was a time I aspired to portray a queen in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film and a modern girl in a Zoya Akhtar movie—those desires still hold true. However, above all, I aim to narrate the stories of today’s Indian woman—her dreams, aspirations, and everything that defines her.”
This statement comes from an actress who has already taken on a diverse array of roles—from the rebellious Mukku in ‘Kedarnath’, to the quirky Rinku in ‘Atrangi Re’, and the charming Somya in ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’. Her performances embody a fusion of classic Bollywood melodrama and contemporary storytelling, so it’s no surprise that she wants to champion narratives that resonate with the experiences of modern women.
Imagine a film crafted by Sara Ali Khan. With her unique blend of royal heritage (thanks to her Pataudi lineage) and down-to-earth persona (she’s beloved on Instagram as the queen of ‘Namaste Darshako’), she could introduce a fresh perspective to Bollywood.
Would she incorporate her personal experiences? Perhaps we’d see a powerful, independent woman navigating the complexities of love, career, and family, or perhaps she’d infuse it with humor and drama. Whatever direction she chooses for her production debut, it’s sure to be captivating.
What’s on the horizon for Sara Ali Khan? While we anticipate her foray into production, she remains busy with a lineup of exciting films. She’s set to star alongside Aditya Roy Kapur in Anurag Basu’s ‘Metro… In Dino’, which promises to delve into the intricacies of urban romances. Furthermore, there’s buzz about her collaborating with Ayushmann Khurrana on another project, a pairing that holds great potential for a refreshing cinematic experience!
