Saif Ali Khan Injured in Knife Attack During Burglary Attempt

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times by an unidentified intruder during a burglary attempt at his Bandra residence. The incident occurred around 3:30 am on Thursday. Saif, who sustained six stab wounds, including two deep cuts—one dangerously close to his spinal cord—is currently undergoing surgery at Lilavati Hospital. Doctors have reported that he is out of danger.

According to the Mumbai Police, the attacker broke into Saif’s home and a confrontation ensued, leading to the actor being injured. His wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their sons, Taimur and Jeh, were present in the house at the time but remained unharmed. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam confirmed the incident, stating, “An unidentified individual entered Saif Ali Khan’s residence. A fight broke out, during which the actor was injured. The matter is under investigation.”

Saif Ali Khan’s team released a statement addressing the situation, urging fans and the media to remain patient while the police investigate. “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. This is a police matter, and updates will be provided as available.”

Lilavati Hospital also issued a statement detailing Saif’s injuries. “He sustained six stab wounds, two of which were deep. One of the injuries is dangerously close to his spinal cord. A team of specialists, including neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anesthesiologist Dr. Nisha Gandhi, is attending to him,” said Dr. Uttamani of Lilavati Hospital.

This attack comes months after a separate incident involving an alleged threat to Salman Khan by individuals linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police are investigating whether there are any connections between the two incidents.
