Sachin Tendulkar Receives Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 BCCI Naman Awards
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recognized remarkable accomplishments in Indian cricket at the esteemed Naman Awards held on Saturday. A memorable highlight of the evening was the awarding of the prestigious Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award to the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, acknowledging his unmatched contributions to the sport over an illustrious two-decade career.
This Lifetime Achievement Award not only celebrated Tendulkar’s 24-year international journey but also his personal milestones and national victories, encapsulating the aspirations of an entire nation. It honored a cricketer whose influence transformed Indian cricket into a formidable global force, as noted in the BCCI’s release on Saturday.

For more than 20 years, Tendulkar’s bat carved out an extraordinary legacy on cricket fields worldwide, amassing a record 100 international centuries and 34,357 international runs. From his debut at the tender age of 16 to becoming the first batsman to score a double century in One Day Internationals, his path was one of relentless excellence. Even now, Tendulkar stands as the sole cricketer to have played in 200 Test matches. His unparalleled passion, commitment, and prowess, coupled with his humility, grace, and dignity, have solidified his status as a global sports icon.

In his acceptance speech, Tendulkar expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, stating, “I am deeply honoured to receive the Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.” He further remarked, “My cricketing journey, which spanned 24 years, was not mine alone. It was a collective effort involving every coach’s guidance, each teammate’s trust, every fan’s unwavering support, and my family’s belief, love, and sacrifices.”
“This award serves as a reminder to keep giving back to the sport and the people who have given me everything. To the @BCCI and all cricket enthusiasts: thank you for allowing me to represent India with an open heart and boundless aspirations,” Tendulkar concluded.
Bumrah Bags Polly Umrigar Award
Jasprit Bumrah, India’s leading fast bowler, was awarded the prestigious Polly Umrigar Award for Best International Cricketer (Men) for the third time, recognizing his outstanding performances in 2024. Ranked No. 1 in the ICC Test rankings, Bumrah took 71 wickets across 13 Tests, the highest by any bowler that year. He also earned the Player of the Tournament title with 15 wickets at an incredible average of 8.26, leading India to victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
The vice-captain of Team India, Smriti Mandhana, won the Best International Cricketer Award (Women) for the fourth time.
Displaying her exceptional batting talent and leadership, Smriti—previously a winner of the award in 2017-18, 2020-21, and 2021-22—finished 2024 with centuries against New Zealand and Australia, as well as two consecutive centuries against South Africa. The elegant opener scored 747 ODI runs at an impressive average of 57.46 and marked her second Test century against the Proteas in Chennai. She also excelled in T20s, achieving 763 runs in 21 innings, including eight half-centuries.
The Mumbai Cricket Association was recognized for Best Performance in BCCI Domestic Tournaments of 2023-24, after clinching the Ranji Trophy for a record 42nd time and also winning the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, the Vijay Merchant Trophy, and the Women’s U19 One-Day Trophy.
The BCCI honored R. Ashwin with a special award as he announced his retirement from international cricket after the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, celebrating his exceptional international career.

Chinese Man Sets World Record by Running 100 Km Daily for 100 Days
World: A Chinese ultramarathon runner has achieved a remarkable world record by running 100 kilometres every day for 100 consecutive days.
The runner, Huang Zhenglong, is also known as Long Shao. He completed a total distance of 10,000 kilometres during this challenge.
According to Guinness World Records, the feat took place between December 6 and March 15. He successfully finished the challenge in Foshan, Guangdong.
Huang was warmly welcomed and celebrated after completing this extraordinary achievement. Many people praised his dedication and strong will.
He had been preparing for such endurance challenges for a long time. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he closed his business to focus fully on running.
Earlier, he had also run across China for 365 days without a break. This experience helped him take up even tougher challenges.
At the beginning, many people doubted his ability to complete this task. Running 100 kilometres daily is equal to running more than two marathons every day.
Despite the doubts, Huang stayed consistent and disciplined. He started his run every morning at 7 am along the Desheng River.
He also shared his journey online, which inspired many people. His determination impressed runners and fans around the world.

Huang said that receiving recognition from Guinness World Records made him very happy. He added that many people believed this challenge was impossible.
His achievement proves that strong determination and hard work can make the impossible possible.

Shresta Iyer Faces Hate After IPL Video
IPL 2026 : The IPL 2026 match between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders was washed out due to rain.
The match result gave both teams one point each. Shreyas Iyer’s sister, Shresta Iyer, shared a fun video on Instagram after the game.
She joked that Punjab had given one point to KKR. Some people did not like the video and sent her hateful messages online.
Shresta later posted another video to respond to the hate. She said her video was only for fun and not meant to insult anyone.
She asked people to take the game in a positive spirit. She also said there should be no hate, only love in sports.

RCB’s 19th Over Blitz Seals Big Win Over CSK
Sports: At the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Chennai Super Kings in an exciting high-scoring match.
RCB looked steady at first but exploded in the final overs. Tim David and Rajat Patidar changed the game with powerful hitting. The 19th over became the turning point as RCB scored 30 runs and set a huge target.
RCB smashed 19 sixes and 14 boundaries, with most runs coming from big shots. Phil Salt and Devdutt Padikkal also played key roles.
