Mangalore, January 18: A gang of robbers executed a meticulously planned heist at the Kotekaru Cooperative Bank in Ullal, making off with gold jewelry and cash worth 4 crore. The robbers entered the bank at 1:10 PM and completed their robbery in just five minutes. They quickly escaped, using a strategic plan to avoid police detection.

To prevent being tracked, the robbers stole a mobile phone from one of the bank employees. Knowing the police would attempt to trace them through the phone, they discarded it near Kadri Road, successfully erasing any trail. The police suspect that some bank staff members might have been involved in providing information to the criminals.

After disposing of the phone, the robbers made their way toward Kerala, passing through the Bantwal road. They were spotted at a toll booth in Kerala, where one of the robbers paid the toll fee of 150 RS and received a receipt. The registration number on their car was found to be a fake, and the vehicle did not have a fast-tag, confirming the robbers’ efforts to avoid detection. The police are currently tracking two vehicles used by the robbers, with CCTV footage capturing the escape.
