Road Traffic Suspended in Mangaluru for Spirit Exorcism Ritual at Kottara
In an unusual turn of events, road traffic was halted from 10 PM to 3 AM in Kottara, Mangaluru, due to a Brahmarakshasa exorcism and the expulsion of other spirits. The closure was a precautionary measure before the renovation of the temple was carried out, according to the organizers.
The exorcism was conducted at the Mahadevaraja Kotedababbuswamy Temple in Kottara, where spirits like the Ranakali and Brahmarakshasa were believed to be causing disturbances. To ensure safety during the ritual, the local authorities put up banners requesting people to avoid traveling on the major roads in the area during the designated hours.
The road closure and the exorcism ceremony gained significant attention and quickly went viral on social media. The banners urging the public to refrain from movement at night have sparked curiosity and conversations online, with many questioning the intersection of such traditional practices in the modern world.
Local authorities have stated that these measures were necessary for the proper performance of the exorcism and to maintain peace in the area. The closure lasted through the night, and normal traffic resumed early in the morning after the ritual was completed.

Alva’s PU College Students Shine in NDA Examination
Mangaluru : Alva’s Education Foundation has achieved another milestone as 24 students from Alva’s Pre-University College cleared the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Speaking at a press conference, Dr. M. Mohan Alva, President of Alva’s Education Foundation, said that the NDA is an important step for students who dream of becoming officers in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. He said the college has been preparing students effectively for the examination through proper guidance and training.
He explained that the institution gives special importance to NDA coaching. Experienced lecturers train the students regularly. Mock tests, question paper analysis, time management sessions, and personal guidance help students prepare confidently for the examination.
The college also focuses on improving the physical fitness of students through regular exercise, parade training, and sports activities. Dr. Alva said the institution is committed to preparing capable young people for national service by providing quality training and complete guidance to NDA aspirants.

High Court Suggests Marriage In Love Cheating Case
Mangaluru: The Karnataka High Court shared an important view in a love cheating case against Krishna J. Rao from Puttur. He is the son of BJP leader Jagannivas Rao.

The court said that it would be better if the accused marries the woman. The judges noted that the woman has a child from the accused.
Justice M. Nagaprasanna said it is not right to leave the woman and child without support. He also said the accused has a duty to take care of the child as a father.
The court asked if the accused is ready to give Rs.10,000 per month as maintenance to the woman. The case hearing has been postponed to April 24.

The accused’s lawyer said the relationship lasted for seven years. He also claimed that political rivals are using the case to harm the image of the accused’s father.
However, the court stressed that the child’s welfare is most important. It suggested marriage on humanitarian grounds.

Dr. Greeshma Vivek Alva Secures Second Rank in MD Examination
Mangaluru: Dr. Greeshma Vivek Alva has secured the second rank in the postgraduate MD examination conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences for the academic years 2022–2025.
She is a student of MD in Clinical Naturopathy at Alva’s College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences in Moodabidire. Her achievement has brought pride to the institution and her family.

Dr. Greeshma is originally from Puttur taluk. She is the daughter of Shashikala Rai Kukkuvalli and late Ganesh Rai Pallamajalu. She is also the daughter-in-law of Dr. M. Mohan Alva, President of Alva’s Education Foundation, and wife of Managing Trustee Vivek Alva.

She completed her early education at Vivekananda School in Tenkila, Puttur. She later earned her degree in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences from Alva’s College.
Dr. Greeshma is a practicing naturopathy doctor. She is also serving as the administrator of Alva’s Pharmacy. She efficiently manages the production and storage of Ayurvedic medicines.

She is also the coordinator of ‘Saksham’, a women’s organization under Alva’s institution. Apart from academics, she is a trained Bharatanatyam artist. She is skilled in public speaking, anchoring, and counselling in both Kannada and English.

Recently, she was honored with the prestigious “Veera Rani Abbakka Award” by the Karnataka College Teachers’ Association. This award recognizes her achievements and contributions.
