Ricky Kej Dazzles in Indian-Inspired Ensemble at the 2025 Grammys
Ricky Kej, the illustrious three-time Grammy Award-winning musician, made a remarkable entrance at the 2025 Grammy Awards on February 2. He captivated onlookers with an exquisite ensemble that paid tribute to India’s rich cultural heritage. The 41-year-old artist, nominated for his fourth Grammy for the album ‘Break of Dawn’, graced the red carpet alongside Marla Maples, a well-known American TV personality recognized for her previous marriage to former US President Donald Trump.

For this prestigious event, Ricky Kej opted for a sophisticated brown bandhgala embellished with intricate beadwork, pairing it with a black dhoti adorned with subtle golden lace. This stunning outfit was designed by Bharat Jain and his team at 108 Bespoke, drawing inspiration from Kej’s Grammy-nominated album. To enhance his appearance, he draped a traditional Kambli shawl over his shoulder.

This beautiful shawl, crafted by the talented Kuruba weavers of Karnataka, was cleverly reimagined using recycled yarns and natural fibers by textile designer Pavithra Muddaya of Vimor. Additionally, Kej showcased earrings inspired by his Rajasthani roots, further honoring his Indian heritage.

Although Kej’s album ‘Break of Dawn’ received a nomination for Best New Age Album, he did not take home the award this year. The honor instead went to Indian-American musician and business leader, Chandrika Tandon, for her album ‘Triveni’. This win marked Tandon’s second Grammy nomination, following her first in 2010 for ‘Om Namo Narayana: Soul Call’.

Other nominees in the category included Anoushka Shankar for ‘Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn’ and Radhika Vekaria for ‘Warriors of Light’.

Kej, whose career boasts three Grammy wins, first rose to prominence in 2015 with ‘Winds of Samsara’, which earned him the Grammy for Best New Age Album. His subsequent collaboration with Stewart Copeland on ‘Divine Tides’ secured them additional Grammy accolades in 2022 and 2023.

Excitement is in the air for Demi Lovato and Jordan “Jutes” Lutes as they prepare for their upcoming wedding! The pop star and her musician fiancé are set to tie the knot over Memorial Day weekend.

While details about their chosen date and venue remain under wraps, fans are eagerly anticipating this next chapter in their love story.

From studio collaborations to sharing life’s significant moments, Demi and Jordan have forged a strong bond since meeting in January 2022 during the recording of Demi’s song “Substance.” By August of that year, they went public with their relationship on Instagram, and their connection has only deepened since then.

Demi has expressed her enthusiasm for their relationship, stating, “I live and breathe for our connection,” and envisioning their future together. By September 2024, she shared that she had “waited her whole life” to find someone like Jutes.

For Demi, who has been open about her personal challenges, finding a partner who provides love and stability has been transformative. Jutes shares these sentiments, discussing their laid-back approach to wedding planning and their desire to avoid unnecessary stress. They are savoring their engagement, enjoying every moment as they prepare for the wedding.

“We’re on it, but we’re taking our time,” Jutes explained last October, emphasizing that their plans are driven by love rather than deadlines.

The couple celebrated their one-year engagement anniversary in December 2024 with heartfelt messages on Instagram. Exciting news in Bollywood: Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are reuniting for a cinematic project after an 11-year hiatus, this time exploring the origins of Indian cinema. The celebrated duo, known for classics like ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘PK’, is collaborating on a biopic about Dadasaheb Phalke, recognized as the pioneer of Indian film.

This biopic will vividly depict Phalke’s life against the backdrop of India’s freedom struggle, combining historical drama with the emotional depth for which Khan and Hirani are renowned.

The much-anticipated shooting starts in October 2025. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed on social media that the script has been in development for over four years.

Aamir Khan will embark on preparation immediately after promoting his upcoming film, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, set to release on June 20. The production team is dedicated to authentically representing the early 1900s, with VFX studios in Los Angeles already designing AI-based visuals to recreate the nascent era of Indian cinema.

The biopic’s script has been carefully crafted, with Hirani teaming up with longtime collaborator Abhijat Joshi, alongside writers Hindukush Bharadwaj and Avishkar Bharadwaj. Extensive research has been conducted, incorporating insights from Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson, Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar, who contributed personal stories to enrich the narrative.

French Actor Theo Navarro-Mussy Excluded from Red Carpet Due to Rape Allegations

Published

on

French actor Theo Navarro-Mussy has been officially barred from walking the red carpet at the premiere of ‘Dossier 137’, a political drama competing at this year’s festival. This decision follows resurfacing allegations of rape and physical violence against him, marking a significant incident for the prestigious event.

Navarro-Mussy plays a supporting role in ‘Dossier 137’, directed by César Award-winning filmmaker Dominik Moll, which is set against the backdrop of France’s Yellow Vest protests. However, it’s the controversy surrounding his past that is drawing attention rather than his performance.

The exclusion decision was confirmed mere hours before the film’s debut at the Palais theater. Producers Caroline Benjo and Carole Scotta of Haut et Court released a joint statement highlighting that, although the allegations predate the film’s production, they felt it was necessary to act in “respect for the plaintiffs and the victims’ word.”

Festival director Thierry Frémaux had previously discussed the situation with the team prior to the festival’s opening. As reported by ‘Télérama’, the decision was made quietly but decisively: Navarro-Mussy would not participate in promotional events or walk the red carpet with the cast.

Reports indicate that Navarro-Mussy faces accusations from three women alleging rape and physical violence occurring between 2018 and 2020.

The claims are serious, and while legal proceedings are ongoing, the festival and the film’s supporters have made it clear they will not wait for a verdict to take a stance.

This situation is notable as it marks the first known instance of Cannes banning an actor due to assault allegations. This decision indicates a broader shift in the film industry, where institutions are increasingly pressured to address such matters seriously.

This year, Cannes introduced a new clause in its selection guidelines aimed at ensuring the safety and dignity of everyone involved in producing films screened at the festival.

As for ‘Dossier 137’, the film remains focused on its narrative, which centers on a profound investigation into a protester’s injury by a police flash-ball grenade. Léa Drucker stars as Stephanie, the lead investigator, in what many critics are labeling one of the festival’s most relevant and politically charged films.

Featuring a cast that includes Jonathan Turnbull, Mathilde Roehrich, Guslagie Malanda, and Stanislas Merhar, the film explores the intricate themes of accountability, power, and state violence—issues that resonate deeply with the ongoing off-screen controversy.
