Rashtrapati Bhavan Showcases ‘Tanvi The Great’; Cast Touches Hearts with President’s Praise

A significant milestone was reached by the team of ‘Tanvi The Great’ with President Droupadi Murmu attending a special screening at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The event featured the film’s cast, including Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Karan Tacker, and debutante Shubhangi, who were touched by the President’s enthusiastic reaction.

As the film concluded, the President rose to her feet and applauded, leaving the team elated and deeply grateful.

Anupam Kher, who directed and produced ‘Tanvi The Great’, described the experience as profoundly personal and moving. He told ANI, “I’m overwhelmed because the President watched our film. The tagline is ‘Different but no less’. Seeing her stand and applaud was incredibly humbling—a true honor.”

On Instagram, he reflected on the occasion as a pinnacle moment in his career. “Witnessing her applause marked a dream come true. For a director, this level of support from the highest office symbolizes ‘anything is possible’. She truly embodies our film’s message: ‘Different But No Less’. Jai Hind!”

Boman Irani, another star of the film, expressed admiration for Kher’s vision and commitment. “Anupam is a cherished friend who has supported me throughout my journey. When he shared the essence of this film with me, I knew it would be powerful—an emotional tale about goodness and the army. That’s what gives the movie its depth.”

He also took to social media to highlight the privilege of having the President watch their film. “It was both a humbling and proud experience for all of us. Thank you @anupampkher for letting us be part of this unforgettable journey.”

The screening was organized ahead of the film’s theatrical debut at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, serving as an affirmation of the film’s emotional impact and central themes.

Earlier, Kher expressed how honored he felt to present ‘Tanvi The Great’ to the President. “Given the film’s focus on autism and the Indian Army, who better to showcase it than the Commander-in-Chief? She exemplifies resilience, grace, and pioneering leadership.”

The film has garnered international acclaim during its festival circuit, with successful screenings in Cannes, New York, Houston, and London, and received standing ovations at the National Defence Academy and Southern Command in Pune.

Alongside Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Karan Tacker, and Shubhangi, the cast includes Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Nasser, and British actor Iain Glen. Produced by Anupam Kher Studios with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), the film’s global distribution is overseen by Excel Entertainment (Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar) and AA Films (Anil Thadani).
