Ranveer Allahbadia Issues Apology for Controversial Remarks on India’s Got Talent

YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, who is widely recognized for his BeerBiceps brand, has issued a public apology following criticism over a controversial remark made during his appearance on the show ‘India’s Got Latent.’ The comment triggered significant backlash on social media, leading Allahbadia to release an apology video where he took responsibility for his actions.

In the video, Allahbadia expressed his remorse, stating, “My comment was inappropriate and not funny at all. Comedy isn’t my strong suit, and I’m here to seek forgiveness.”

He acknowledged his lapse in judgment and asserted that he would not attempt to defend his statements. “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry,” he tweeted.

He further noted, “This isn’t how I want to utilize my platform,” recognizing the responsibility that comes with his significant following. The controversial comment arose when Allahbadia posed a highly inappropriate question to a female contestant, asking, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” This question drew immediate backlash for its offensive nature.

While addressing his diverse audience, which includes many young viewers, Allahbadia emphasized that he never intended to offend anyone, highlighting his respect for family values. “The podcast reaches people of all ages, and I do not want to be someone who disrespects boundaries,” he stated. He also informed that he had requested the show’s producers to eliminate the segment from the video.

The apology was also shared on his social media platforms, where he wrote, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry.”

Despite his efforts to make amends, the repercussions of his comment persist, with legal action being taken against him. Two lawyers from Mumbai have lodged a formal complaint against Allahbadia with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission. Furthermore, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis condemned the remark as “vulgar,” asserting that appropriate measures should be taken against those who breach standards of decency.
