Randeep Hooda Explains His Initial Hesitation to Take on the Villain Role in Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’

Published

A source close to the film “Jaat” has disclosed that Randeep Hooda initially hesitated to accept the role of the antagonist in the action movie alongside Sunny Deol. The filmmakers were keen on casting Randeep as Ranatunga, but he had some reservations about stepping into the villain’s shoes, particularly since he wouldn’t be playing a Jaat character. According to the insider, “When the producers approached Randeep for the role of Ranatunga, he found the challenge intriguing but was uncertain about making the leap. However, the enthusiasm of director Gopichand Malineni during the screenplay narration and the opportunity to play the lead villain opposite Sunny Deol, whom he deeply admires, ultimately convinced him to accept the role.”

On March 25, the filmmakers unveiled an exciting trailer for “Jaat” on social media, showcasing a heated confrontation between Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda. The trailer hints at the intense rivalry and power struggles that are central to the film, featuring thrilling action sequences, emotional moments, and the relentless conflict between Deol and Hooda’s characters.

Randeep Hooda’s character in “Jaat” embodies pure evil—a ruthless and cold-hearted villain who harbors no fear and will eliminate anyone who challenges him. Opposing this menacing force is Sunny Deol’s Jaat.

“Jaat” marks the first on-screen collaboration between Deol and Hooda, with Randeep taking on the role of the antagonist. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film features a strong ensemble cast, including Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, and Regina Cassandra in key roles. The film is set to be released in theaters on April 10.

Sunny Deol, who plays the titular Jaat, shared his enthusiasm, stating, “The journey of this film began during the production of Gadar 2. We were all very excited to embark on a beautiful film project, and after a series of discussions with many directors, Gopi agreed to helm the movie. We met in Goa, where he mentioned he had another story to present. He began narrating the story of ‘Sorry Bol’ (laughs), and with his engaging narrative, he drew me into the complete story, leading to the creation of ‘Jaat.’
