‘Ramayana’ Actor Ravi Dubey Refers to Co-Star Ranbir Kapoor as His ‘Elder Brother’

Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project, ‘Ramayana’, is among the most eagerly awaited films in the coming years. The cast features notable names such as Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Lara Dutta, Yash, Sunny Deol, and Ravi Dubey. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Ravi shared his bond with Ranbir Kapoor, describing him as like an elder brother.

Ravi Dubey expressed, “Ranbir is remarkably kind, one of the kindest individuals I’ve encountered. He’s warm and inviting. We were talking about humility earlier. When someone achieves significant success—especially overnight—they attract admiration and love. With that often comes a heightened credibility regarding their performances and the freedom to behave in certain ways, which many actors come to embrace.”

He continued, “However, Ranbir Bhai stands apart. His humility, kindness to everyone, calm demeanor, dedication to his craft, and thorough preparation behind the scenes are truly remarkable. To me, he is like an elder brother, and I hold a deep respect and admiration for him.”

In a previous interview with Connect Cine, Ravi Dubey disclosed his role in the much-anticipated film, stating, “I will be portraying Lakshman. I finally have the go-ahead from the producers to share this.” He explained, “I refrained from discussing it earlier to avoid giving any reckless statements that might disrupt Namit (Malhotra) and Nitesh sir’s plans to announce the cast.” Additionally, Ravi expressed his admiration for Ranbir Kapoor, asserting that he considers him the “only commercially viable artist of this generation.”

Meanwhile, at the Red Sea Film Festival, Ranbir also spoke about his role as Lord Ram in the film, saying, “I am currently immersed in ‘Ramayana’, which is truly the greatest story. My childhood friend Namit Malhotra, who is passionately adapting this tale, has gathered the best artists, creative minds, and crew. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari.”
