Rahul Challenges Kejriwal to Taste Yamuna Water

Published

During a public gathering in the Hauz Qazi area on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi challenged AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal to drink water from the Yamuna River, emphasizing Kejriwal’s failure to fulfill his promise of cleaning the river since the last assembly elections.”Arvind Kejriwal vowed to introduce a new political system, eradicate corruption, promised to clean the Yamuna within five years, and even claimed he would take a dip in it. Yet, it remains filthy. I urge him to drink its water, and we’ll meet in the hospital afterward,” Gandhi stated.

The Opposition leader also criticized Kejriwal’s team, pointing out that among the nine members, none represent Dalit, OBC, or minority communities.

Earlier in the day, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi accused BJP and AAP leaders of focusing solely on themselves rather than addressing the real issues faced by the public. At an election rally in Seemapuri, she remarked, “Narendra Modi and Kejriwal are quick to blame each other, yet both claim to be honest. The reality is, neither is.”

She further stated, “Modi attributes his failures to Nehru, while Kejriwal blames Modi for his own shortcomings. I’ve never seen such a victimized leader before.”

As the elections approach, both the AAP and BJP have begun discussing women’s issues, a subject they have largely neglected for the past decade, Priyanka mentioned. “Kejriwal has made numerous accusations against Sheila Dikshit, but today, women remain unsafe under his governance. They are fearful and anxious about their safety, hesitant to venture out alone,” she added.

Additionally, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, during a political event in Mustafabad, criticized Kejriwal for disparaging Congress. “He was once vocal about fighting corruption and deceived figures like Anna Hazare for electoral gains. However, it was the Congress under Sheila Dikshit that truly brought progress to the people of Delhi,” he stated.
