Puttur Police Arrest Theft Accused, Recover Gold and Cash
Puttur:The Puttur Rural Police have arrested a man in connection with a house burglary case and recovered stolen gold ornaments and a motorcycle used in the crime.
The accused has been identified as Dayanand Naik M. (29), a resident of Mudenur village in Nettanige, Puttur taluk. According to police reports, a theft had occurred on October 12 in the jurisdiction of the Puttur Rural Police Station, where approximately 31 grams of gold ornaments and ₹5,000 in cash were stolen after the accused broke into a house.
Following the registration of the case and an investigation, police apprehended the suspect on Sunday at Eshwarmangala in Puttur taluk. During the arrest, authorities recovered 30.120 grams of gold jewelry and seized the motorcycle allegedly used in the commission of the crime.
The police continue to investigate whether the accused was involved in other similar thefts in the region. Authorities have praised the swift action of the investigating officers.

Car and Auto-Rickshaw Collide in Puttur; Three Injured
Puttur: A major road accident occurred at Manjalpadpu on the Mani–Mysuru National Highway when a car and an auto-rickshaw collided head-on, leaving three people injured. Both vehicles sustained severe damage in the incident.

The injured have been identified as Sunil Pinto (37), the auto driver and a resident of Pajir in Mudipu, Bantwal taluk; Usman (57) of Pajir; and Fatimath Murshida (17), a student and granddaughter of Usman.
Sunil and Usman suffered serious leg injuries, while Murshida sustained a head injury. All three were given first aid at a hospital in Puttur and later shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment.

According to reports, Usman had hired the auto to visit Puttur for medical purposes. On his way back, he picked up his granddaughter Murshida, who studies at an educational institution in Kumbra, on the outskirts of Puttur.
The accident took place when a car, attempting to overtake a lorry, rammed into the oncoming auto-rickshaw at Manjalpadpu. The impact caused heavy damage to both vehicles. A case has been registered at the Puttur Traffic Police Station, and an investigation is underway.

Father dies a month after daughter’s death in tragic accident
Puttur: In a heartbreaking turn of events, a father who was injured in a road accident that had earlier claimed his daughter’s life has also passed away.

The deceased has been identified as Eshwar Bhatt (75), a resident of Andepuni, Puttur. He had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Puttur and succumbed to his injuries on November 3.
The accident had occurred on May 27 near Mura on the Mangaluru–Mysuru National Highway, when a private bus collided with a WagonR car. The car was driven by Eshwar Bhatt, who was travelling with his daughter Apoorva and her three-year-old daughter.
Both Eshwar Bhatt and Apoorva had sustained serious injuries, while the child escaped with minor injuries. The victims were first admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru, where they underwent treatment.

Despite efforts by doctors, Apoorva passed away on October 7, nearly four months after the accident. Her father, who was later shifted to a hospital in Puttur, succumbed to his injuries a month later.

Puttur: A Congress woman leader from Puttur has received widespread praise for her compassionate act following a tragic road accident near Parpunja.

Two days ago, a collision between an autorickshaw and a car near Parpunja claimed the lives of a woman and a child. Several others were injured and were immediately rushed to Med Land Hospital in Puttur for treatment.
Upon hearing about the incident, Chandraprabha Gowda, the Working President of the Puttur Block Congress Women’s Wing, rushed to the hospital. She took the lead in arranging treatment for the injured and ensured they received timely medical help.
A four-month-old baby injured in the accident was left without its mother’s care as she was also undergoing treatment. Chandraprabha Gowda personally looked after the infant and even covered the expenses for a CT scan, according to reports.

Her kind gesture and late-night assistance at the hospital have touched many hearts. A video of her helping the victims has gone viral on social media, earning her widespread appreciation for her humane and selfless service.
