Punjab Police Dismantles Terror Module Near Amritsar Airport; Three Arrested with AK-47s and Pistols

Punjab police successfully dismantled a terror module and apprehended three individuals near Amritsar airport on Sunday night. Authorities seized an AK-47, several rounds of ammunition, a .30 caliber pistol, and a .32 caliber pistol with cartridges from the suspects, according to official reports.The arrested individuals have been named as Lovepreet, Karandeep, and Buta Singh.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar remarked, “The Amritsar Police Commissionerate has made a significant breakthrough by busting this terror module and arresting three suspects. We recovered an AK-47, several rounds, a .30 caliber Glock pistol, and a .32 caliber pistol with cartridges. The accused—Lovepreet, Karandeep, and Buta Singh—are residents of Amritsar Rural.”

He added that Buta Singh is considered the primary suspect and the architect of the network.
“They received firearms and ammunition from various sources after being lured by monetary offers,” he stated.

Bhullar noted that the suspects were involved in this terror racket for financial gain.
“We are currently investigating the origins of the arms and ammunition and how they came into the suspects’ possession. Additionally, we are probing the entire network involving finances, suppliers, and drones. I commend my team for executing this operation effectively. One of the suspects attempted to shoot at our ASI during his apprehension. Our team, including SHO Sadar, responded, leading to injuries to Lovepreet and Buta Singh,” he continued.

Previously, on January 30, Punjab Police arrested two operatives and recovered two grenades and a pistol along with live cartridges following a brief exchange of fire, as reported by the Director General of Punjab (DGP) Police.

The arrests occurred after police acted on confidential information. The suspects have been identified as Robinjeet Singh and Harpreet Singh, who are linked to the Satta Naushehra Gang.

In a post on social media platform X, the DGP shared: “Acting swiftly on secret information, we apprehended 2 operatives (Robinjeet Singh & Harpreet Singh) associated with USA-based Gurdev Singh and Canada-based terrorist Lakhbir of the Satta Naushehra Gang after a brief exchange of fire, recovering 2 grenades and 1 pistol along with live cartridges.”

22-Year-Old Woman Killed After Truck Runs Over Her in Jaipur

Jaipur: A 22-year-old woman died after a truck ran over her in Jaipur, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Liga Jimo, a native of Nagaland. She had been living in a rented house in Malviya Nagar for the past two years. She was working at a beauty parlour in the area.

The incident took place on Monday night. Liga Jimo was travelling to Malviya Nagar on a bike taxi.

According to police, the bike lost control near Gopalpura Pulia. As a result, the woman fell onto the road.

At the same time, a truck carrying gas cylinders came from behind and ran over her. She died on the spot due to the impact.

Police shifted the body to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. Further investigation is underway

Husband Revives Wife After Doctors Declare Her Dead

Mangaluru: A woman who was declared dead by doctors survived after her husband performed CPR for 35 minutes. The inspiring story of Komal Jamwal was shared on the Instagram page of Humans of Bombay and has gone viral.

The incident happened in March 2012 when Komal was 33 years old. She suddenly developed severe leg weakness and collapsed. Doctors at a hospital in Jammu later diagnosed her with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare condition that affects the nerves.

During treatment, she suffered repeated cardiac arrests and doctors declared her dead. However, her husband refused to give up and performed CPR for 35 minutes until her heart started beating again.

She was later treated in Ludhiana and slowly recovered. Now 14 years later, the 47-year-old woman can walk again and says she is grateful to her husband and family for saving her life.

Vallabh Maheshwari Dies in BMW Crash on Delhi–Mumbai Expressway

New Delhi: Vallabh Maheshwari, Managing Director of Shakun Group, died in a road accident on Sunday. He was 62 years old.

The accident happened on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway near Alwar. Maheshwari was travelling from Jaipur to Mathura.

Police said the BMW car was driven by his driver. The driver lost control of the vehicle. The car broke through roadside barricades and crashed into the median wall.

The impact of the crash badly damaged the luxury car.

Maheshwari and his driver were taken to a nearby hospital. Doctors declared Maheshwari dead. The driver survived without injuries.
