PM Modi’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ to Showcase Deepika Padukone, Mary Kom, Sadhguru, and More

Among the distinguished guests are Deepika Padukone, Mary Kom, Avani Lekhara, Rujuta Divekar, Sonali Sabharwal, FoodPharmer, Vikrant Massey, Bhumi Pednekar, Technical Guruji, and Radhika Gupta, all of whom will contribute to empowering the students.
The event, which encourages interaction between students and PM Modi, is organized annually by the Department of School Education and Literacy and will take place in a town hall style at Bharat Mandapam in the capital.
‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ (PPC) is an initiative by PM Modi aimed at turning exam stress into a celebration of learning. Its eighth edition has seen remarkable growth, with a staggering 3.56 crore registrations in 2025, a significant increase from the previous year’s 2.26 crore registrations—a surge of 1.3 crore.
PPC has evolved into a national movement, resonating deeply with students, teachers, and parents alike, transforming into a “Jan Andolan” (people’s movement). Its emphasis on relieving exam pressure and promoting the idea of exams as a festival—the “Utsav”—has found a warm reception among diverse communities.
The impressive turnout for PPC underscores the rising awareness of the importance of mental well-being and holistic education. The program’s interactive approach, facilitating direct dialogue among students, educators, and the Prime Minister, has played a pivotal role in its popularity.
To further deepen PPC as a “Jan Andolan,” various engaging activities were organized from January 12, 2025 (National Youth Day) to January 25, 2025 (Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti) at schools nationwide.
These activities aimed at fostering a sense of community and celebration among students, parents, and teachers, witnessing participation from 1.42 crore students, 12.81 lakh teachers, and 2.94 lakh schools. The initiatives focused on reducing stress, enhancing focus, and boosting performance during exams and beyond.
Students took part in an exciting array of activities, including traditional games like Kho-Kho and Kabaddi, short-distance marathons, creative meme contests, engaging street plays (Nukkad Nataks), and vibrant poster-making competitions.
Additionally, students were encouraged to document their experiences through testimonials, engage in discussions, and participate in yoga and meditation sessions to foster relaxation and mindfulness. Schools organized plays created by students and hosted workshops with special guests sharing their insights.
Since 2018, PM Modi has been conducting this annual event to connect with school students, teachers, and parents, offering guidance on how to remain stress-free during board exams. The program is organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Education.
The first three editions of PPC were held in New Delhi in a town hall setting. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fourth edition transitioned to an online format, broadcast on Doordarshan and major TV channels. The fifth, sixth, and seventh editions returned to the town hall format at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.

US Vice President Vance to Address the Rajasthan International Centre Today in Jaipur

While in the Pink City, Vance plans to visit the historic Amber Fort, which is currently closed to the public due to increased security measures.
This visit carries symbolic weight, reminiscent of former US President Bill Clinton’s trip to Jaipur 25 years ago. To welcome the dignitary, the city has undergone a festive transformation, with elaborate decorations spread throughout. A section from New Gate to Tripolia Gate is draped in white cloth, leading to Badi Chaupar, where the flags of India and the United States are prominently displayed. Jawaharlal Nehru Marg has also seen similar festive preparations, creating a grand visual reception for the visiting delegation.
Accompanied by his wife Usha Vance, of Indian origin, and their three children—Ivan, Vivek, and Mirabel—Vice President Vance headed straight to the iconic Rambagh Palace upon his arrival, where he will be staying during his time in Jaipur.
Prior to arriving in Jaipur, Vance participated in a high-level meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, where the Prime Minister hosted a private dinner for the Vice President and his family, signifying the warmth of the India-US relationship.
Prime Minister Modi took to X, stating, “Pleased to welcome US Vice President J.D. Vance and his family in New Delhi. We reviewed the fast-paced progress following my visit to the US and meeting with President Trump. We are committed to mutually beneficial cooperation, including in trade, technology, defence, energy and people-to-people exchanges. The India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership will be a defining partnership of the 21st Century for a better future for our people and the world,” he added.
In response, Vice President Vance expressed his gratitude on X, saying, “It was an honour to see Prime Minister Modi this evening. He’s a great leader, and he was incredibly kind to my family. I look forward to working under President Trump’s leadership to strengthen our friendship and cooperation with the people of India!”
During their discussions, both leaders acknowledged the significant momentum generated in negotiations for a US-India Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA). They announced the finalization of the Terms of Reference for these negotiations, establishing a clear roadmap for ongoing dialogue aimed at enhancing economic ties. The BTA aims to create a modern trade framework that fosters job creation and promotes economic prosperity in both nations. It seeks to strengthen bilateral trade and supply-chain integration in a balanced and mutually beneficial manner.
With aspirations for an ‘Amrit Kaal for India’ and a ‘Golden Age for America,’ both parties view this agreement as a means to create new growth opportunities for workers, farmers, and entrepreneurs in both countries.
Vice President Vance’s visit comes shortly after a productive meeting between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Modi in Washington earlier this year. That meeting reaffirmed both leaders’ commitment to the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and led to the initiation of the India-US COMPACT (Catalysing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce & Technology) for the 21st Century, which is based on mutual trust, shared values, and active citizen participation.
This visit serves as an opportunity for both nations to assess progress on bilateral commitments and evaluate the implementation of outcomes from the Joint Statement issued on February 13. In addition to bilateral matters, both sides exchanged views on regional and global issues of shared concern.
In light of heightened security for the Vice President’s movements in Jaipur, local authorities have deployed round-the-clock police personnel and implemented a closely monitored convoy plan to ensure safety during his stay.
Vice President JD Vance’s visit represents a significant advancement in the evolving partnership between these two democratic powerhouses, laying the groundwork for deeper cooperation in the coming years.

Present at the meeting were several senior officials from the Union Home Ministry and the Chhattisgarh government, including Home Minister Vijay Sharma.

Chief Minister Sai provided updates on the preparations for the effective roll-out of new criminal laws, stating that administrative and technical requirements have been met. A total of 27 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines are now in effect across the state. Infrastructure at courts, police stations, and jails has been upgraded to support e-evidence handling and video conferencing. Since the laws came into effect, 53,981 FIRs have been registered, with charge sheets filed in about 50% of the cases.
The meeting also focused on special strategies to achieve a lasting resolution to the Naxal issue. Sachdeva: BJP Mayor Coming to Delhi for Enhanced Municipal Services

The BJP chief criticized AAP representatives Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi for holding a press conference to accuse the BJP of poaching councillors to seize power in the MCD, calling their statements not only absurd but also an attempt to deflect blame for their political and administrative failings onto the BJP.
Sachdeva noted that many councillors, who were elected on AAP tickets in 2022, entered office with optimism and a strong commitment to public service. However, he claimed that AAP leaders failed to fully constitute the Municipal Corporation for two and a half years, which led to a halt in all developmental and administrative activities of the civic body. He argued that those AAP councillors who recognized their obligations to the people ultimately left the party out of disillusionment with their leadership’s persistent obstruction of MCD operations.
On a related note, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor remarked that whenever AAP leaders mention “Operation Lotus,” they mistakenly believe they are targeting the BJP politically. Instead, he argued, they end up tarnishing the reputations of their own legislators and councillors. Kapoor also reminded Atishi and Bharadwaj that their councillors resigned from the party while still in power, highlighting the fact that during the opposition period from 2017 to 2022, significant defections were absent, indicating that the councillors did not leave for power, but rather to pursue developmental initiatives.
In related news, AAP announced on Monday that it will not partake in the upcoming mayoral election for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) scheduled for April 25, citing a lack of fair electoral opportunities.
