Nitish Strikes Again: Bows to BJP Leader, Opposition Challenges His Intentions
However, just as discussions swirled in the media and political arenas about his apparent resurgence, Nitish Kumar’s actions sparked fresh concerns about his physical and mental well-being, raising questions about whether he should continue leading the state.
The incident occurred during a Holi Milan celebration hosted by Union Minister and MP Ravi Shankar Prasad in Patna. Amidst festive songs, Prasad applied gulal to the Chief Minister, along with other senior leaders from the BJP and JD(U) who partook in the traditional festivity.
In a surprising moment just before leaving, Nitish Kumar bent down to touch Ravi Shankar Prasad’s feet, a gesture that was met with intervention from his close aides. Instead, he opted to hug Prasad, leaving those present visibly startled.
This was not the first time Kumar has publicly attempted to touch the feet of younger leaders, having previously done so with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other party figures. His actions were quickly seized upon by critics, who questioned the rationale behind such gestures, particularly towards someone younger.
RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav suggested that Nitish Kumar was losing his grip on reality and had become a puppet for certain leaders within his party and the BJP, who he claimed were exploiting him for their own interests. He warned that the people of Bihar are keenly observing the situation and would not remain silent for too long.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Captain Smit Machchhar over a video call and praised his courage after he helped prevent a major air disaster.
Captain Machchhar was seriously injured after his co-pilot allegedly stabbed him during a flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv on Wednesday. The Boeing 737 MAX reportedly lost nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds.

Speaking from his hospital bed, Captain Machchhar told PM Modi that he was badly injured and had collapsed in the cockpit. He realised that the aircraft was rapidly losing altitude and that he had to act.
“I could not let all those people die,” he told the Prime Minister.
Captain Machchhar said his 17 years of flying experience helped him understand what was happening to the aircraft. He managed to open the cockpit door, after which passengers and crew came to his help.
