Fans of Malayalam cinema are buzzing with anticipation for ‘L2: Empuraan’, the eagerly awaited sequel to ‘Lucifer’. The excitement reached new heights with the recent character reveal. On Thursday, superstar Mohanlal took to X (formerly Twitter) to unveil actress Nikhat Khan Hegde as Subhadra Ben in this political action drama.

In the video, Hegde discussed her role, portraying Subhadra Ben as a regal yet empathetic woman who owns an opulent haveli. “She exudes a sense of royalty while being profoundly kind-hearted. She supports those in need during critical times,” Hegde shared.

The actress also alluded to the character’s emotional complexity, stating, “Subhadra Ben represents love, resilience, and betrayal.”

Expressing her excitement for being a part of this project, Nikhat Khan Hegde commented, “Through this character, I explored various emotions and conveyed a significant message. Collaborating with director Prithviraj and the entire team was an incredible journey.”

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, ‘L2: Empuraan’ is produced by Antony Perumbavoor and Subaskaran, with the screenplay written by Murali Gopy. The music is composed by Deepak Dev, while Sujith Vaassudev captures the visuals, and Akhilesh Mohan handles the editing.

This film marks the second chapter in a planned three-part series. The original ‘Lucifer’, released in 2019, set box office records, becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time with over ₹200 crore in earnings.

Scheduled for release on March 27, ‘L2: Empuraan’ promises a riveting blend of action, drama, and political intrigue.
