Neena Gupta Explains Why She Was Recalled to Her Van While Filming a Scene for ‘Metro… In Dino’
She remarked on Anurag’s instinctive and insightful nature, noting how he continually generates ideas right up until the moment of filming.
“I remember when we arrived on set as instructed by the production team, we were told to return to our van as it would be a while before we could shoot. I spotted Dada off in a corner of the set, deep in thought. When I asked what was going on, his assistant explained, ‘He wants to think.’ It was amusing how suddenly he needed that time to reflect,” Neena recounted.
She went on to emphasize Anurag’s ability to improvise, revealing that he often has the entire script in his mind, enabling him to make spontaneous changes.
“While we were performing our lines and had completed a couple of takes, he would suddenly suggest, ‘Neena, let’s try it this way or that.’ I found myself thinking, ‘Wow, that’s a brilliant idea! Why didn’t I think of that?’ Working with him has been about fulfilling many of my dreams. When he called me for this film, I immediately said, ‘I don’t need to know anything else; I just want to work with you.’ It truly is a joyful experience,” she added.
*Metro In Dino*, presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in association with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt. Ltd., is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu. The film is scheduled for release on July 4, 2025.
