In response to inappropriate comments made on the show “India’s Got Latent,” the National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, and several others to appear before them on February 17. The Commission has expressed deep concern regarding the derogatory and racist remarks allegedly made by the content creators during the show. The NCW stated, “We have taken note of the vulgar and offensive comments made by individuals such as Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani, along with the show’s producers, Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra. These statements have led to significant public outrage and undermine the dignity and respect that every person deserves, especially in a society that emphasizes equality and mutual respect.”

Under the direction of Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, the NCW has scheduled a hearing to discuss these controversial remarks. The statement noted, “Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, Tushar Poojari, and Saurabh Bothra are required to attend the hearing in person. This will take place on February 17 at 12 pm at the NCW office in New Delhi.”

Additionally, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has recently requested that YouTube remove episodes of the aforementioned show from its platform. In a letter to Mira Chatt, Head of Public Policy at YouTube, NHRC member Kanoongo stated that a complaint has been received alleging that “India’s Got Latent,” hosted by Samay Raina, contains highly objectionable and inappropriate remarks about society.

He also noted that the content appears to violate various legal provisions under the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Information Technology (IT) Act, and other relevant laws. It is worth mentioning that the Mumbai Police have filed a complaint against Allahabadia, known as ‘BeerBiceps,’ Makhija, referred to as ‘Rebel Kid,’ and Raina for their use of offensive language on “India’s Got Latent.”
