Published

on

Union Home Minister Amit Shah credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the BJP’s significant win in the Delhi Assembly elections, marking a return after a 27-year absence. He announced that the “reign of lies” in Delhi has concluded and signaled the start of a new era focused on development and trust.

The Delhi Assembly elections featured a competitive triangular race involving the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), BJP, and Congress.

In a series of posts on X, Shah proudly proclaimed, “Delhi ke Dil mein Modi” (Modi in the heart of Delhi). He noted that the citizens of Delhi have made strides toward eliminating the “Sheesh Mahal” of lies, deceit, and corruption. Shah asserted that Delhi has sent a message to those who break their promises, suggesting this could serve as a warning to others across the nation. “This is the dawn of a new era of development and trust in Delhi,” he stated.

He elaborated, “The reign of lies has come to an end in Delhi—this is a victory against arrogance and chaos. It reflects the faith of Delhiites in ‘Modi’s guarantee’ and his vision for development.” Shah conveyed his gratitude to the people of Delhi for their overwhelming support, emphasizing that under Modi’s leadership, the BJP is committed to fulfilling its promises and establishing Delhi as the world’s premier capital.

“The voters have made it clear that they will not be misled by false promises again. Their vote is a response to the issues of pollution in the Yamuna, inadequate drinking water, dilapidated roads, and overflowing sewers,” Shah remarked.

He extended heartfelt congratulations to the BJP’s Delhi workers for their immense efforts that led to this victory, also acknowledging BJP National President JP Nadda and State President Virendra Sachdeva. He stressed that under Modi’s leadership, issues such as women’s respect and the dignity of residents in unauthorized colonies will be prioritized, aiming to transform Delhi into an ideal capital.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh echoed these sentiments, stating that the BJP’s substantial victory in the polls reflects the people’s faith in Modi’s leadership and the party’s commitment to good governance. “After nearly 27 years, the people of Delhi have placed their trust in the BJP, and I am grateful for their blessings. For a developed India, a developed Delhi is crucial. This victory will fuel the double engine government to accelerate Development in the capital,” Singh added.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also praised the BJP’s success in the elections, stating, “I commend the voters of Delhi… The real victory belongs to the citizens. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s local reputation has diminished; the movement that opposed corruption has now become synonymous with it. The citizens of Delhi deserve better. Our goal of a developed Bharat will soon come to fruition in Delhi, and in the next three years, we envision transforming Yamuna Bank into a space akin to the Sabarmati Riverfront.”
