A particularly poignant moment came when Kaling’s longtime friend and former co-star from ‘The Office,’ BJ Novak, delivered a touching speech. Kaling, now 45, first crossed paths with Novak in 2004 on the set of ‘The Office.’ Despite their romantic relationship ending in 2007, their friendship has endured.
