Hollywood actress Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that she isn’t particularly social and doesn’t have many friends. The ‘Stranger Things’ star, who was just 11 when she began her journey on the Netflix series, shared that growing up on set with private tutoring has hindered her social skills, making it challenging for her to connect with peers, especially after being further isolated from her co-stars Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, and Sadie Sink due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to ‘Female First UK’.

In the latest issue of ‘Vanity Fair’ magazine, she expressed, “I don’t have many friends because of who I am. I didn’t go to school, so I struggle a bit with social skills and forming friendships with people my age. I’ve missed out on certain experiences, but I’m working through it.”

At 20, the actress, now married to Jake Bongiovi, acknowledged that her own struggles with identity during her teenage years influenced her portrayal of Eleven on ‘Stranger Things’. She explained, “I incorporated what I was experiencing into her character. Eleven’s journey with identity was a significant theme we grappled with. Should she dress as a girl, wear her adoptive father Hopper’s shirts, or reflect the influence of her friends? At that time, I was uncertain about my own style—whether I leaned toward feminine, masculine, androgynous, or grunge looks. That confusion shaped my performance.”

When she’s not acting, Millie dedicates her time to running an animal rescue center.
