Manushi Chhillar Teams Up with Rajkummar Rao for Action Drama ‘Maalik’
The film’s creators, along with Rajkummar Rao, recently showcased the initial look on Instagram. The poster features Manushi in a delicate pink traditional outfit, radiating charm and elegance.
The chemistry between Manushi and Rajkummar, known for his compelling screen presence, is evident in their shared gaze. This hint of romance suggests a plot where love is interwoven with chaos.
The Instagram post’s caption heightened anticipation: “Jinke bina chalti nahi #Maalik ki dhadkan, unse hogi aaj mulaqaat. #Naamumkin song out today. #Maalik se milne ajana 11 July ko sirf cinema gharon mein!”

Initially slated for a June 20 release, the film has been rescheduled to July 11 and is currently undergoing final post-production edits.

Directed by Pulkit, ‘Maalik’ is produced by Kumar Taurani from Tips Films and Jay Shewakramani of Northern Lights Films. The project was first announced on Rajkummar Rao’s 40th birthday, adding to the excitement surrounding it.
In ‘Maalik’, Rajkummar portrays a ruthless gangster, a character expected to deliver a gripping edge to the narrative.
For Manushi Chhillar, this role follows her appearance in the 2024 action film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. That film featured a stellar cast including Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Prithviraj Sukumaran but unfortunately underperformed at the box office despite its high-octane action.
Conversely, Rajkummar Rao’s latest project, ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’, directed by Karan Sharma, offered a slice-of-life drama featuring Wamiqa Gabbi, Dhanashree Verma, Sanjay Mishra, and Raghubir Yadav. This storytelling revolves around Ranjan, a young man from Banaras pursuing his dreams, who inadvertently angers fate by breaking a sacred vow.
