Mangaluru: Man Dies after Falling Into River While Fishing

Mangaluru: A tragic incident occurred near Alive Bagilu in Thota Bengre, Mangaluru, where a man accidentally fell into the river and drowned while fishing.

The deceased has been identified as Manohar Putran (53). According to reports, the incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manohar was setting a Fishing net in the Phalguni River when he accidentally slipped and fell into the water.

Despite efforts, he was unable to resurface and tragically drowned. Local authorities and residents later recovered the body from the river.

Police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations

Srinivas University Wins Three International Awards in Bangkok

Mangaluru: Srinivas University has received three international awards at the Global Education Summit held recently in Bangkok, Thailand.

The university was honored with the Global Excellence Award in Higher Education and Research. The Srinivas Institute of Technology received the Excellence in Industry-Integrated Technical Education Award. The institute’s Principal, Dr. Srinivasa Mayya D., was presented with the Visionary Education Leader Award.

Speaking at a press conference, Chancellor Dr. Srinivas Rao said the awards recognize the institution’s achievements in education, research, industry-integrated learning, and student development. He said the recognition reflects the university’s contribution to the education sector at the international level.

Dr. Rao said the honor is not only for the institution but also for the education sector of Coastal Karnataka. He added that Srinivas University has recently introduced a B.Tech course in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. The course has received a positive response from students.
