Mangaluru: Kadri Star Night on September 15

Mangaluru: The 16th annual Kadri Star Night will be held on Monday, September 15, at Kadri Grounds, as part of the Mosaru Kudike Utsav. The event is being organized by Kadri Cricketers (R), an associate body of Kadri Charitable Trust (R).

Announcing the program at a press conference in Mangaluru, the organization’s president, Kadri Manohar Shetty, said that several renowned artistes and celebrities will take part this year. Popular playback singer Rajesh Krishnan, Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa jury member Shruti Prahlad, actor Roopesh Shetty, Golden Book of Records winner singer Yashavanth M.G., Bharatanatyam exponent Vidushi Deeksha, and performer Remon are among the participants.

Noted filmmaker J.P. Thoominadu, director of the recently released and successful film Su Fum So, will also be present along with several dignitaries and artists. A felicitation ceremony will be held to honor retired soldiers who served in the Indian Army, he added.

Secretary Raghavendra Baravattaya, members Hemananth Kodibail and Taranath Shetty Kadri, along with other office bearers, were present at the press meet.

Mangaluru: The results of the Second PUC examination for the academic year 2025–26 have been announced. A student from Alva’s College in Dakshina Kannada district has secured the first rank in the state.

Disha, a Commerce student, scored a perfect 600 out of 600 marks. She achieved full marks in all subjects. This outstanding performance helped her secure the top position in the state.

Disha’s achievement has brought pride to her college and district. Alva’s College has once again shown its strong performance in academics.

Teachers and students have praised Disha for her hard work and dedication. Her success is an inspiration to many students across the state.

Mangaluru : On Good Friday, April 3, 2026, the faithful of Allipade Parish gathered at St. Antony Church in a spirit of deep devotion. The solemn service was led by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, along with Rev. Fr. Anush D’Cunha SJ and Rev. Fr. Leston Lobo SJ.

The priests guided the congregation through prayers and reflections on the Passion and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The atmosphere was calm and prayerful, with many observing fasting and silence.

The faithful came together to remember the sacrifice of Christ. The service shared a message of love, hope, and forgiveness. It inspired everyone to strengthen their faith and live with compassion

Hyundai Exter Launched in Mangaluru with New Features

Mangaluru : The new Hyundai Exter has been launched in Mangaluru with exciting features. The car was unveiled at the Advaith Hyundai Showroom in Kuntikana.

National champion runner Ayush R Devadiga officially launched the car. The event included a cake-cutting ceremony, and he was also honoured. He said the car is designed for today’s youth and is expected to become popular.

Sales consultant Chandan explained the car’s features. Showroom manager Rajesh Ullal and other staff members attended the event.

The Hyundai Exter offers an SUV-style look and modern features. It includes a dashcam, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Type-C USB ports, and Bluelink connectivity. It also has an electric sunroof, a digital cluster, and OTA updates for maps and infotainment.
