Mangaluru: An Artificial Intelligence (AI) higher education centre will begin operations in November at Madiyala village, the native place of Lokaseva Vrunda founder Madiyala Narayana Bhat. Student admissions to the centre are expected to begin from June 2027.

One World One Family Mission founder Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai made the announcement while speaking to reporters in Mangaluru.

He said the initiative aims to provide quality education and better learning opportunities, especially to children from rural areas. The AI centre is being planned to help students prepare for future educational and career opportunities.

Sadguru Madhusudan Sai also spoke about the growing problem of anaemia among children across the country. He said his organisation is working on measures to address the issue and plans to distribute ragi-based nutrition support to around eight crore children across the country.

He added that the organisation is planning to extend the initiative to 22 states and establish educational institutions in every district as part of its long-term vision.

A 50-bed hospital will also be established in Mangaluru, he said. The hospital will provide free treatment to patients, including those suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses.

He said the organisation receives support from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and donors, which has helped expand its service activities.

Sadguru Madhusudan Sai said the Prashanthi Balamandira Trust has been established to provide comprehensive information about the organisation’s educational institutions and its various initiatives. Interested people can access the details through the trust.

He also urged young people to stay away from addictions and make productive use of their time. He said proper guidance and affection can help youngsters choose a positive path in life.

On the occasion, Namma Kudla Director Leelaksha B. Karkera honoured Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai by presenting him with a memento.

Mangaluru: Tenepuja was held at the Sharavu Sri Mahaganapathi Temple in Mangaluru on Saturday as part of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

The rituals began in the morning with Tenepuja, followed by Ganahoma and Mahapuja. After the pujas, sacred paddy sheaves, known as tene, were distributed among the devotees.

A large number of devotees visited the temple to receive the tene. They offered prayers to Lord Mahaganapathi and sought His blessings.

Devotees expressed their happiness after receiving the sacred sheaves as prasada.

The temple is also gearing up for a grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebration on Sunday. Special arrangements have been made to welcome devotees for the festival.

Mangaluru: Ashmith A.J., winner of Zee Kannada’s popular reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs 2026, was felicitated at a special programme held at Sharada Vidyalaya in Mangaluru on Saturday evening.

The event was organised by Sri Sangeetha Paathashala, Karmaru, Padil, where Ashmith received appreciation for his achievement in the music field. The programme was held at the Dhyana Mandir of Sharada Vidyalaya.

Ashmith paid his respects to his music teachers, Sandhya Satyanarayana, director of Sri Sangeetha Paathashala, and Satyanarayana Bhatrakodi. He expressed gratitude to his teachers for their guidance and support.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashmith said that he has been learning music for the past eight years. He credited the blessings and encouragement of his teachers and elders for his success. He also stressed that children need constant support from their parents and elders to achieve their goals. Ashmith later entertained the gathering with a song.

Mahesh Puchappady, president of the All India Arecanut Growers’ Association, congratulated Ashmith on his achievement. He described the felicitation as a simple yet meaningful programme. He expressed hope that Sri Sangeetha Paathashala would continue to guide more children towards success in the field of music.

Leelaksha B. Karkera, Director of Namma Kudla news channel, said Ashmith had a strong desire to achieve something in life. He said children should develop a similar determination to succeed. Such an attitude, he added, can help them achieve their goals in the future.

Leelaksha also advised people never to forget the path through which they have grown. He said those who remember their roots can become better and more respected individuals.

Dr. M.B. Puranik, president of Sharada Group of Institutions, who presided over the programme, said everyone had gathered to bless and encourage a young achiever. He noted that every child has the potential to excel in at least one field.

He said elders and parents should identify such talents and provide the right encouragement. He also stressed the importance of giving children good values from an early age so that they remain on the right path.

Ashmith’s parents, Jayaram and his wife, were present at the programme. Satyanarayana of Sri Sangeetha Paathashala compered the event. Principals, staff members and students of the educational institution also attended the programme.
