Ullala : A 60-year-old man from Toudugoli, identified as Shekhabdulla, passed away due to a heart attack on Friday during a visit to the revered Ajmer Dargah.

Shekhabdulla, a resident of the Naringana-Varkadi border area in Toudugoli, was a well-known lime fruit trader at the Kallapu Global Market in Mangaluru. He had left for Ajmer three days ago along with his friends as part of a religious pilgrimage. After completing the Dargah visit on Friday, he reportedly experienced severe chest pain. Unfortunately, he passed away before he could be admitted to the hospital.

Shekhabdulla had been in the lime trade for over 40 years and was known to make annual visits to Ajmer. Two years ago, he had suffered a heart attack during a similar visit, but timely medical intervention and transfer to a hospital in Mangaluru had helped him recover.

He had lost his wife two years ago, and although the loss had affected him emotionally, he continued to stay active in religious and social activities, which reportedly helped him cope with the grief.

Arrangements were made to bring his body back from Ajmer by ambulance on Friday afternoon. The body is expected to reach his residence in Toudugoli by midnight on Saturday. His final rites will be performed at the Toudugoli mosque burial ground.Shekhabdulla is survived by two sons and a daughter.
