K-drama superstar Kim Soo Hyun is currently embroiled in controversy following claims made by the aunt of the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The aunt recently alleged that Soo Hyun and Sae Ron were in a romantic relationship for six years, starting when she was just 15 and he was 27. In her comments, she accused Soo Hyun of financial wrongdoing and of failing to support Sae Ron during her DUI scandal in 2022.

Kim Sae Ron’s aunt has placed blame on Kim Soo Hyun for the actress’ tragic death. During an appearance on the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, she made startling allegations regarding the relationship. She stated that their romance, which began when Sae Ron was only 15, lasted until 2022.

Throughout their time together, the aunt revealed that Soo Hyun founded his management agency, GOLD MEDALIST, in 2019. Sae Ron contributed to the company by helping to recruit new talent and offering free acting lessons. After their breakup in 2022, Sae Ron faced legal issues due to a DUI incident, for which Soo Hyun’s company provided support, paying approximately 700 million KRW (around $483,000) in damages without requesting reimbursement from her.

However, after her contract with GOLD MEDALIST ended, the actress received a notice to repay the 700 million KRW. Distressed by this development, she attempted to reach out to Soo Hyun, who reportedly avoided her calls. Her aunt claimed that this situation drew media attention, leaving Sae Ron feeling “betrayed.” She asserted that the financial burden contributed to Sae Ron’s feelings of despair, ultimately leading to her suicide on Soo Hyun’s birthday.

In response to these serious accusations, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency has issued a statement categorizing the claims as untrue. GOLD MEDALIST firmly stated, “The assertions made by the Garosero Research Institute on YouTube today are completely unfounded.” They emphasized that allegations of collusion with YouTuber Lee Jin Ho to harass Kim Sae Ron and that their response to her DUI was improper are completely false.

Furthermore, the agency expressed sorrow over the passing of Kim Sae Ron, stating, “We are deeply saddened by the news of her death, as she was once a member of our company, and we mourn her loss.”

Promising to take legal action, the agency urged fans to refrain from spreading misinformation.
