Kim Sae Ron’s husband released a statement through the Garo Sero Research Institute to address the accusations made against him. He shared that he met the late actress in mid-to-late November 2024, describing their connection as a “strong attraction” despite the brief time they spent together. They reportedly exchanged vows in the United States on January 12, 2025. However, he mentioned that their differing lifestyles and the challenges posed by long-distance ultimately led them to seek an annulment. “We fell in love quickly and made a hasty decision, but eventually, we recognized that it wasn’t viable.”

The husband refuted claims that he coerced Kim Sae Ron into marriage due to her supposed pregnancy, asserting, “It is absolutely false that she was pregnant. Rumors about her pregnancy emerged in January 2025, but we first met in mid-to-late November 2024. We became serious around the end of November when she came to visit me in America.” He emphasized that the timelines do not align, explaining, “We weren’t even considering children; Kim Sae Ron was on birth control pills. To suggest that she was forced into marriage because of a pregnancy is a severe disrespect to her memory. Who marries under threat?”

Regarding allegations of abuse, the husband stated that such accusations are unfounded, pointing out that a police report about any assault would have instantly been filed due to the nature of his U.S. residence. He explained, “If any assault had occurred, the neighbors below would have alerted the authorities immediately. Moreover, in America, assault carries serious legal consequences.” He also called for evidence from those making the accusations against him, questioning why Kim Sae Ron would willingly visit him if there was any truth to the claims of abuse.

Additionally, he denied allegations of controlling and monitoring her social media activities, stating, “She often used my phone to reach out to people, and we freely exchanged our passwords as a couple.”
