Kashmir Leaders Unite Against Terror in All-Party Meeting Led by J-K Chief Minister
The attendees condemned the Pahalgam assault, expressing their outrage over the despicable act targeting innocent civilians. They emphasized that such cowardly brutality is unacceptable in society and poses a direct threat to the values of Kashmiriyat and the broader ideals of India, which stands as a beacon of unity, peace, and harmony in the region.
The resolution, adopted unanimously during the meeting, stated, “We remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting all efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. We affirm that no act of terror can diminish our resolve or extinguish our indomitable spirit. We also endorse the measures announced by the Union Government.”
The resolution paid tribute to Shaheed Syed Adil Hussain Shah, a local who risked his life to protect tourists during the attack. His bravery and selflessness serve as a source of inspiration for all and exemplify the essence of Kashmiriyat and the region’s hospitality.
The participants praised the remarkable display of moral and material support offered by the local community to tourists throughout the Kashmir Valley and their strong unity in denouncing the recent attack. They expressed appreciation for peaceful protests held across towns and villages in Jammu and Kashmir, which reflect a firm commitment to peace, communal harmony, and the rule of law, while reaffirming the collective determination to promote mutual respect, uphold constitutional values, and collaborate for the prosperity and stability of the region.
In light of these challenging circumstances, the resolution called for an earnest appeal to all State and Union Territory governments to provide unwavering support to Kashmiri students and citizens living far from home. These individuals, whether traveling or residing outside Jammu and Kashmir, must be protected from any form of harassment, discrimination, or intimidation.
Finally, the resolution urged all political parties, community leaders, religious institutions, youth organizations, civil society, and media in Jammu and Kashmir and across the nation to maintain calm, resist provocations aimed at disrupting harmony, and continue collaborating for the peace and development of the region.
